Why can't I learn?

I found a Denver mint penny, a lucky Denver mint. (don't say you didn't see it coming) When I was younger I interpreted that the song was about somebody being better than you, and you just have to accept it. I'm not really sure what the song is about? Does anybody know? I mean like a story from the band or something. Not what those people posted on songmeanings. I was gonna screencap the video, but I decided not to.

I have a soft spot for late 90s emo music.
The funny thing about Dan's novel on Gossip Girl is how it upset his family so much. I hope I don't have that problem. Maybe I should focus on school stories. Like stories about absurd sandwiches or really horrible school assemblies.

Nobody Listens to Random Shit

I was looking up different sandwiches on the wikipedia. I found this sandwich called a Cheese Dream. It looked like my kind of sandwich. There are lot of variations of it.

I also thought about writing cheese dream parody song. Using the song "Teenage Dream"

I heard the song "Words" by Missing Persons. That's the way I feel right now. Nobody is listening to me. I decided to be a jerk, and just start saying random shit. If nobody is listening anyway why would it matter.

Dhanush Mappillai Tamil Film

Mappillai   is a 2011 Tamil film directed by Suraj, starring Dhanush as the son-in-law and Manisha Koirala as the mother-in-law with Hansika Motwani, in her Tamil debut, playing her daughter. The film is a remake of the 1989 film of the same name, which incidentally starred Dhanush's father-in-law, Rajinikanth, in the lead role. Distributed by Sun Pictures, it was released on 8 April 2011. Despite largely negative reviews, the film had a good opening.

I feel Fine

I started out the day doing a bunch of mundane things like shopping and other boring stuff. I missed Belmont since I was napping, but I managed to wake up and catch the replay.

I'm working on some new recipes. I'm trying to make a good peanut butter and honey sandwich. So far I have made one with honey on one side and peanut butter on the other. I didn't like it because the honey crystallized on the bread. Then I tried peanut butter on both sides of the bread to stabilize the honey like I do with jelly. That also didn't work. Maybe I need to mix the peanut butter and the honey together? I want to make a cold sandwich. Most of the recipes I find online are for warm ones like a grilled cheese.

I made a new drink too it's cherry limeade (minute maid) mixed with a little bit of lemon lime soda.

Nothing happened!

I'm somewhat disappointed. At least I'll get to eat the candy I bought this morning.

Maybe it's just me but I don't associate the Blondie song "Rapture" with the end of the world. Seriously I have no idea what that song is about.

My comments are all back including one about Angel's Friends that seemed to be in limbo.

I still gotta review those panda cookies I bought! x-x

Boring Pill

I found another review of the Patsy Cline show. This one is from the LA Times.

Without further adieu here are the lyrics to the incredibly horrible "Earthquake Drill"

Earthquake Drill

Everybody try to squeeze under a desk
And its such a mess
Go outside for the earthquake drill
Its like taking a boring pill
We stood in line for a little while
Then everybody left or broke off with style
Everybody’s thinking of things to do
The time just never flew
By
Somebody got hit in the butt another in the eye
The bra straps were a pullin’
And nowhere was where we were goin’
It was an hour long
I was bored so that’s why I wrote this song
(Fades out into the repeated lyrics Earthquake drill It‘s like taking a boring pill)

Miscellaneous blog #42

Here is a bunch of miscellaneous things strung together.

I found the lyrics to "Earthquake Drill". I never realized how horribly laughable the lyrics are. I should post them on here for a good laugh.

After posting that ad on craigslist all I got were offers for scam jobs. Some of them were vague and desperate. Maybe I'll post another ad soon. When the current one expires.

On the way home my dad was looking for a bathroom because he didn't go before we left the venue. He didn't know that a lot of fast food places that are open 24 hours only have the drive thru open after hours to prevent robberies. How could he not know that?! I misspelled the word "sultry" forgive me I was tweeting on my phone, and it doesn't have spell check. :(

The real reason I didn't want to say I was going is because I don't own any recording equipment to record the performance. Here is somebody else's review of the show. Shirley is mentioned as the "Former Garbage front woman" Okay... -_-

Here is something strange after the show I looked up Zooey Deschanel's profile I didn't realized she was in The Offspring's video for "She's Got Issues". My friend use to joke like I was the girl on the video because she sees all these strange cartoon things. She was also in "The Jag" video. I'm not an obsessive fan or anything. Those videos came out at about the same time. Those videos were both on the music video tapes I've been going through. When I watched the "She's Got Issues" video I noticed the girl has an outdated job; she is film developer. That job is pretty much obsolete now.

My dad picks out the tackiest things for my mom. He always wants me to go shopping with him, but he is such a jerk and makes scenes in stores. I'd rather not!

The Lakers NBA finals hopes are crushed. They were eliminated. It reminded me of when they lost to Detroit in 2004. They were really broken back then.

Party Like a Baka!

If you hate to read a blog peppered with Japanese words then don't read this entry. You have been warned.

I'm taking a page from Shirley's facebook notes and channeling somebody. I'm channeling characters from Lupin the 3rd. Mostly Jigen, Zeingata and maybe a little bit of Lupin. I'm also channeling Mr. K and Honigon.
Jigen's cynical nature and love for American food. Zenigata's desperation. Lupin's goofiness. Mr. K and Honigon's knowledge of the Japanese language.

I think the bad luck started when my dad was driving and a black cat crossed the street in front of the car. It made me think of "Sugar Water". I broke into song in the car, but my parents had no idea what I was singing. "When a black cat crosses my path, A woman in the moon is singing to the earth" Then I thought about how much I like the video.
I'm treading a fine line here and I'm trying to be somewhat diplomatic. When somebody is expected to be somewhere and don't show up or bother to come up with a valid reason. There is room for anger. Waiting around like a baka!

Ja ne!

Long Distance

I went through some more of my old tapes. I found the one that I had taped the "Praise You" video on. There is also an Arling & Cameron I really enjoy. The one for "We Love Dancing", but I don't know why. Maybe because it's kawaii. Hey that rhymed! ^-^

Here's a funny Are-Oh-Vee related memory. When I would call the request line at about 1AM. (that's when the show came on) A month later when my dad would get the phone bill he would get mad because I made "long distance" calls to either Costa Mesa or Santa Monica depending which area code the request line had when I started watching it was a number in the 949 area code then they changed to a number in the 310 area code. My dad would get mad, but the calls were made in the same state and the fee was usually like 20¢. It was a little more if I had more of a conversation than request a video.

Read this Bee-elle-oh-gee

I was looking around for my old videos of Are-oh-vee. I was going to transfer them to DVD back when my family got a DVD/VHS recorder. It’s been about 5 years since we had it and I’ve only made about 5 DVDs and there are a lot more videos left.

I told my mom I could keep the videos at my own apartment. Which is a joke reference to what I saw Ferguson talk about on his show. My mom didn’t see it or understand what I was making reference to, but thought it was funny. Äss Mode.

Here's an article about the last show number 500.

Maybe I'll post some old blogs I wrote about the show in the archives. I haven't decided yet.

Praise my Dance Moves

I found this great site that gives all the "Praise You" video dance moves. When I first saw that video which I had recorded off the tv on a VHS tape. I thought it was so funny! I use to watch it a lot! When nobody was watching or around I'd watch the video and dance along with it.

After a while when I would hear the song at home on the radio I'd spontaneously break into the dance moves from the video, and confuse my parents. (I was about 15 at the time) My favorite dance moves are jumping in the air and the fish move. The dancing looks pretty silly when one person does it.

I liked the song "Praise You" so much I wanted it to be my high school's graduation song. (I had no say in that kind of matter) The choir could have sang along to it, and did the dance moves from the video. It would have been better than "I Believe I can Fly" by R Kelly while the choir sang along and flapped their arms.

My dance moves rival those of Napoleon Dynamite and Finn Hudson.

It beats strange punch dancing from the late 90s. I'm not sure what that really was.

I should find that old tape!

Gonna Make you Sweat

I decided to start an exercise regiment. I need some songs I can dance to. I preferably want 90s songs.

Here are some of the songs I'm going to get:
"This is Your Night" Amber
"Rump Shaker" Wreckx-n-Effect
"Praise You" Fatboy Slim
"Crush" Jellyhead
"C'mon Ride the Train" Quad City DJs

Possibly "Barbie Girl" Aqua "Good Vibrations" Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch "Gonna Make you Sweat" C+C Music Factory.

I don't Remember a Moment I Tried to Forget

I usually don't take advice from songs, but I did from the 30 Seconds to Mars song "Closer to the Edge". I had an epiphany when I heard that song. It really spoke to me; which is funny since I really don't listen to that band. What is that song really about? A relationship? religion? the world? Or is it one of those songs with a vague meaning? I personally think it's about doing what you need to do and not having any regrets.

Arbitrary Song

I decided I'm going to write an arbitrary song. Not a novelty one like something like the songs "Ache", or "Magic Chicken". I was thinking it should reference other arbitrary songs. What should I write about? Days of the week, cosmetics, candy and soup have already been taken. What about rolls or going grocery shopping. I'm stumped! :/

Another Glee Story

I thought "Only Child" was a good song and very relateable. "Loser Like Me" was really good too. I'd like to sing that to some of my former teachers and my dad.

"Big Ass Heart" was good too it reminded me of a Jeffries Fan Club song called "Another Love Story". I'd love to hear Puck sing that song on Glee.

I liked the use of confetti filled cups at the end of their song. I don't like the way the girls were dressed they wear a fancy dress with leggins that look is too causal for the dress they wear.

After they won regionals it made me wonder why they go straight to nationals wouldn't there be a state one first? That just confused me.

Miscellaneous blog #41

I finished a rough draft my manga based on my life. I only make a 4 panel strip to start. I was thinking about starting with 3rd or 4th grade, but maybe I'll start earlier like 5 but there will only be a few stories from that era.

I think some of the phrases Sheen is saying are hilarious! I love the "Winning!" one. I'm going to use that. I wonder if that will end up on the banned word list at the end of the year? Unless it is used in context ex: "The Clippers are on a winning streak." or "The Angels need to keep winning to make it to the World Series."

I was thinking is there a popular song written about boobs? There are booty songs like "Baby Got Back". There is "Legs" by ZZTop.

Lent is coming up and I hate being lectured by people who think everybody observes it, and get mad somebody who is eating beef on a Friday. I do enjoy the seafood specials and availability of the "sea meats" like shrimp.

Best Frier (Engrish Brog)

To my Best Frier:

Here is some Enrgish on some cards my mom bought. "Gifts of cash and gift cards are always appreciated."
I think the Engrish on this page is from the Janet Jackson song "Together Again"
I didn't know there is a day of the week called "Frnday".
Did you know the sky is blue?

Golden State of Mind

The alternate title was "Kickin' it in California". I might use that in the future. I'll leave that in the blog for future reference.

I ran into my friend today on the bus. It was strange because I was just talking about him on Saturday. He thought I moved out of state. I never left the state. I have done a good job on laying low like I wanted to. I can't just "appear" if I could I'd had magical powers or something. I guess my classes last semester didn't coincide with his. I would have liked to tell him about all those people in my memoir class. He did confirm that the anime he recommended was The Meloncoly of Haruhi Suzumiya. He asked about facebook. I really like to keep a low profile on there. I told him about how I don't want to be bombarded with reunion requests/invites. I have lamented about this situation in this blog. I think about 6 times. I did bump up me not going to my reunion to 95%. After thinking about it maybe I should raise it to 98%. He said he is not going.

It was like that time I was a freshman in high school and I had bronchitis. I was out for a week, and I don't know how it started. Somebody started a rumor that I had moved away.

I should take some advice from Hana and not deny or run from my past. Like she did in the J-drama I watched.

As I was walking to the bus stop I tripped on some gnarled tree roots and I turned my ankle. I limped to the bus stop it was about 14 feet away. I could make it. The thing I was most worried about was how my dad would react to it. My ankles are weak. I've turned them at least 7 times since I was 10. Never broke them though. It could be a culmination of old age, weight and weak ankles.

Shirley, my friend and I were all thinking about the same thing. Freaky! Or maybe it is great minds thinking alike?

After I thought about it I think I have the best 3 people in my mind to organize a 10 year high school reunion.

I noticed KTLA added a watermark to their Antenna TV subchannel.

I finished watching Prime Suspect, so I have much better note in case I need them. I have a really strong feeling I do.

Last Year's Mattress

I calculated how much it will cost if I keep that phone. They charge me $25 per month which means 4 months = $100 and 4x3=12 which = $300! I was paying about $80 a year with my old phone. It’s still broken even with the solution they gave me didn’t work. I got a text at about 3AM telling me what to do. I’m so tempted to switch my service back to the old phone even if that one is broken, and has been since February.

It’s pretty much confirmed I’m getting a free day on Friday! Yay! Reenactment scenes here I come! What about reenacting a scene from the Glee episode “Mattress”? After I watched it I got an idea. I will reenact a Glee scene along with scenes from the videos "Sex is not the Enemy" by Garbage and "Underneath it All" by No Doubt.
I’d better plan a menu. I’m thinking strong sweet tea and a toasted cheese sandwich! I better draw inspiration from my last free day. Wagers on what kind of gift I get from my grandma. I'm going with small shoes. For my dad I'll say a tiny jacket or a shirt that is 17 in the neck size.

No Doubt was good on the Kennedy Center honors. What was Gwen wearing as a bottom? It looked like koulots or pantaloons

Does anybody think it’s too early for Valentine’s Day and Easter merchandise to be out already? I’ll accept Super Bowl. That really upsets me. I hate when you want to buy something at a store and they don’t have it, and the item is suppose to be in season. Like when it’s summer and you want a bathing suit, but you can’t get one because the store is already stocking fall clothes. I hate having to buy things before the season.
I don’t like to shop at after Christmas sales because the clothes and shoes are “last year”. I use to make that mistake when I was younger.

Tweet Your Heart Out

There is a problem with my phone when I try and type a web address it puts spaces between the letters and can't get to the site. I have to pay more now. The plan I had is not available with this phone. At least I get unlimited web, so I can "tweet my heart out". IDK I thought that was a funny phrase.

The football game getting postponed messed up my tv watching and internet schedule. I'm surprised that NBC decided to carry the game on Tuesday and not give it to ESPN. I heard NBC is getting good ratings with football.

I might get a free day soon. ^0^ I'm making plans in case I do. I think I'll reenact scenes from music videos in my room. I think I'll reenact "Sex is not the Enemy" or maybe "Underneath it All".

I'm sad about the passing of Teena Marie. I'm not trying to make myself into a Teena Marie fan. I only know 2 of her songs; "Lovergirl" and "Behind the Groove". I really like "Lovergirl". I think I mentioned it in a blog once. Maybe it was one of my old myspace blogs? I'll need to look.

Sticky Christmas

I got another strange text message from the same number who sent me one last year. This year the message said "Happy Christmas!" last year it said "Happy Christmas! Be careful. Keep on Keeping On."

I got a new phone and I've been busy cleaning out my old one. I want to make sure I don't erase anything important. Too bad the new one doesn't have a place to put a charm on it. Oh well. The phone was a replacement phone. I'm gonna be super careful with this phone. I'm even buying a case for it.

I got a new MP3 player too which was also a replacement. Added "Pretty Horses" and "Lighten Up" onto this one. I think it could use some 90s R&B. I'm thinking "Thank You" or "End of the Road" by Boyz II Men.

The worst part was my dad spilled grape juice all over me. Luckily it was the white one, but I was sticky all day even after I washed off. Somehow like always he brings it back to back to me. It was my fault he spilled it. That was it! I decided to drink water for the rest of the day. It's not as sticky.
