Televised Teenage Angst

I can't believe my dad got mad at me because an email I was trying to send wouldn't send. He was acting like I was incompetent again. It said that my email host could not find the address.

I've been trying to make a facebook page for my comic, but it's not going very well. I mean making the facebook page. I have a deviantart and twitter for it though. They are pretty sparse though. I might just delete the facebook page. Update: facebook page pending deletion. It's in the 14 day waiting period.

I watched all of the episode of Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters from Beverly Hills. I watched the first episode, and took some notes. After watching it the show reminds me more of Photon than Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad. It's got a bunch of loud music and slow motion scenes for no reason. At least Dic didn't waste the money on the rights to popular music of the time like they did with Photon. But when Dic made Photon they were a relatively new company. I think if I would have saw this as a kid I might have questioned the production values. It did come out when was 10. Is Drew (the blond girl) supposed to be adventurous or rebellious she was wearing a leather-like vest. The show did mix it up a bit by having an AA nerd character. He's like a mix of Billy from Power Rangers and Urkel. Dic also mixed it up a bit with SSSS by having Syd (a female) be the smart one. That was one of the things I liked about SSSS. It was the same thing with Gadget in the Rescue Rangers. I like to relate to the brainy girl character if the main group is of mixed gender. Except for Recess. I liked Gus the best. But not when the group is of the same gender like the Winx Club. Tecna is not my favorite one; it's Stella. The preppy boy is funny. He reminds me of a bit of Niles Crane, Calvin from Ghostwriter, and a character from California Dreams. The coffee bar they meet at is supposed to be like the juice bar from Power Rangers. Then I was thinking did they copy Friends? I think it is more of a coincidence since both shows premiered in the same year. The outfits they wear are totally Power Ranger knockoffs. They have a little bit of pro wrestler or American Gladiators mixed in. The masks totally are a Power Ranger knockoff with the silver lips and all. they have similar weapons. One of them has an axe and one has a lance. I don't think the show is a pure Power Rangers knockoff I think there is a little Saved by the Bell mixed in there and maybe a little bit of Photon.

I also watched a whole episode of Mona the Vampire. I still don't get this show, and I don't like it. I heard that she solves cases. I thought it was going to be like Miss Mallard which I really liked. I think Mona has supernatural powers or something like that. In the episode I saw she imprisoned a vampire in a comic book. It's funny because she calls her diary a "vampire diary". What is up with her vampire hair? I do like the theme song.

I was hoping to rewatch the Wonderful World of Oz, but I don't think that will be possible. I'll still try and record Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters from Beverly Hills. That is too much of a train wreck of a show not to watch.

Here are my colored in Benard comics. I colored them in with the crayon brush in Paint. I use to color my Benard comics in by hand with crayon. I showed the contrast between the pink and the blue bear.


Glee was ok I really liked when Will confronted Quinn,and told her to grow up. I could take a lesson from Glee. PS if anybody wants to use me in a campaign video feel free to contact me. But why was Kurt twirling daggers? It reminded me of the Ninja Turtles.

Yahoo Answers Doesn't Count as "Experience" or "Qualifications"

The Cookie Jar/This is for Kids line up looks pretty bad although I'm curious to see how bad Tattooed Teenagers from Beverly Hills really is. I wish they would have paired it up with Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad. I love that show it was so campy. Syd was my fave character. She usually wore hats. I might watch Mona the Vampire. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is not a bad show.

I plunked down another $3.50 on Glee merchandise. I bought the notebook on sale for half price, but why does the store have to stock the Glee school supplies next to the Glee DVDs?

I bought a pack of WWE trading cards for $1, but for some reason they smell like perfume or something. The bag didn't smell, but it did when I opened them. The cards I got were; CM Punk, Eve, John Morrison and Nikolai Volkoff.

They didn't call back for the Halloween store :( I guess being a Halloween contributor on yahoo answers doesn't count as "experience" or "qualifications".

I saw that Conan anime aka Case Closed. It's good. I've only seen 2 episodes so I'm still getting a feel for it. It's like Miss Mallard, but a grown up version of it. I like what I've seen so far. I heard it's still running in Japan and has been since 1996. I also heard that a dub was shown on Cartoon Network, but it was promptly canceled due to low ratings.



What if Conan met Conan?



That In the Flow with Affion Crockett is not funny. It's trying to be edgy like In Living Color or Madtv was, but to me it's boring.

Conan is not Conan

I'm very excited that UTB is showing anime again. They haven't since Lupin the 3rd series III concluded in late September 2010. They are showing Case Closed/Detective Conan. This should not be confused with that other Conan show with Mr. O'Brien.

They are going to show it during their kids' programming. I thought they were going to continue showing the Ultraman series. They showed Tiga, Dyna, and Gaia. I thought they were going to show Cosmos. This is also English subtitled. It's an ongoing series in Japan, so I'm not sure how long it's going to run on UTB.

I emailed the station in June to find out if they were going to show more anime. They told me that they were not going to show anime at 10PM on weekdays, but that were hoping to bring anime in the near future.

At the Angel game there were a lot of as my mom put it riffraff there for the Ludacris concert. I think it might have been sponsored by Power 106. I saw somebody there who looked like somebody from my past. I won't go into detail describing this person. I hope they didn't recognize me if it was them.

I was sitting near this female who was wearing her hair down and it was long-ish. She tousling with it. I hate to sound with my grandma, but it was annoying me! She was tousling with it so much she got relish in her hair from the hotdog she was eating. That's the problem with long hair it gets in everything. I wear my hair down, but I don't tousle it. I remember one time I wore my hair down and ate some messy food and got bbq sauce in it! Gross!

This time my dad did a better job of keeping score this time.

I really wanted to take my Cabbage Patch Doll to the game. He is baseball All-Stars edition and wears a "retro" Angels uniform. It was the current one in 1986. But I decided not to.

We left early and did not see the show. :(

But not for Free

I forgot to get a free slurpee today. :(

They were DC nails and they had a picture of Harley on the box, but there were no nails with her on them. There was some girl trying to sell me a pack of fake nails at the Hot Topic store. They were really ugly. I think I could decorate fake nails better than that.

I found a Japanese store at the mall. I think it use to be a brick and mortar store in the area and then moved to the mall. I think I passed another one when I was looking for that place in Atlantic Square. I bought some Lucky Stick there. They are the Meiji version of Pocky. Meiji also makes yan yan, but I tried it and I thought it was gross. (chocolate flavor)

There use to be a store in the mall that sold Asian housewares and stationary that was in the mall about 10 years ago. They use to sell Chibimaruko Chan stuff there.

To that guy who vandalized good for him! He's doing something with his life. Letterman doesn't deserve to have a show. You have no idea what you are talking about on your show. JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP! I HATE YOU! YOU HAS BEEN!

By/Buy a Hammer

I bought a quad/graph paper composition book. I don't know why I just thought it was interesting. I'll use it for journal. Maybe I can write about how much I like baby lotion in it. I like that the lotion is referred to as "JBL" LOL! ;P

There was a girl at the store who was very excited to get this plush doll. At first I couldn't see who the doll was. Then I saw it was Amy Rose. I went to see where those dolls were ironically the dolls are near toy squeaky hammers. I'm not sure if this was purposely done or just a funny coincidence. The only other Sonic character I saw was Cream. The dolls are about a foot tall and are $4.99. Is that a good deal? :/

I also bought my first piece of Disney Princess merchandise with Tiana on it. Ariel was also on it. I make it a policy to not buy Disney Princess merchandise unless Ariel is on it.

Ungrateful Wretch

I'm an ungrateful wretch because I'm not appreciating Nickelodeon's version of the Winx Club. All the voices were changed. Well at least they are calling "Layla" "Aisha" again. I haven't heard the voices yet...

It made me think about when Cloverway took over dubbing for Sailor Moon. At least they kept some of the VAs like Jupiter and Mars. Their voice for Rini was way better than the Dic one. The Dic Rini voice sounded really weird, so weird I could impersonate it. The person who voiced Cloverway Rini went on to voice Kara in Di-Gata Defenders

The one thing I really hope even if the voice actors are different is that there will be more dolls released in the US. The same size and maker. 10 inch Mattel dolls, so I can buy more clothes for my Stella doll.

Peter Falk died. When I heard he did the name sounded familiar, but I was drawing a blank. I had to look up who he was online. He played Columbo. I use to watch that show sometimes in reruns. LA looked so much different back then. It was so much sparser. Not to sound mean, but I thought he was already dead before this. To anybody looking for a Halloween costume idea thee is one right there.

It made me think of the Lupin the 3rd second series (red coat) episode The Skateboard Murder Mystery. That is a really funny episode. Especially the scene at the football game.

I'm still working on the opposite. I did muster up and reapply to that place they haven't called back, but I'm looking at this with a carefree attitude more than a cynical one.

I heard this beauty tip on tv to wash the front 3rd of my hair if I don't have time. It doesn't work unless I have a detachable spray head shower. That was really bad advice.

Is flat hair back is style again? Has scene hair left the scene? (bad pun)

I know a lot of people say This tv is a bad channel, and doesn't have much to watch on it. I like to watch the Cookie Jar programs they show, Mister Ed, and Pink Panther cartoons.

Party Like a Baka!

If you hate to read a blog peppered with Japanese words then don't read this entry. You have been warned.

I'm taking a page from Shirley's facebook notes and channeling somebody. I'm channeling characters from Lupin the 3rd. Mostly Jigen, Zeingata and maybe a little bit of Lupin. I'm also channeling Mr. K and Honigon.
Jigen's cynical nature and love for American food. Zenigata's desperation. Lupin's goofiness. Mr. K and Honigon's knowledge of the Japanese language.

I think the bad luck started when my dad was driving and a black cat crossed the street in front of the car. It made me think of "Sugar Water". I broke into song in the car, but my parents had no idea what I was singing. "When a black cat crosses my path, A woman in the moon is singing to the earth" Then I thought about how much I like the video.
I'm treading a fine line here and I'm trying to be somewhat diplomatic. When somebody is expected to be somewhere and don't show up or bother to come up with a valid reason. There is room for anger. Waiting around like a baka!

Golden State of Mind

The alternate title was "Kickin' it in California". I might use that in the future. I'll leave that in the blog for future reference.

I ran into my friend today on the bus. It was strange because I was just talking about him on Saturday. He thought I moved out of state. I never left the state. I have done a good job on laying low like I wanted to. I can't just "appear" if I could I'd had magical powers or something. I guess my classes last semester didn't coincide with his. I would have liked to tell him about all those people in my memoir class. He did confirm that the anime he recommended was The Meloncoly of Haruhi Suzumiya. He asked about facebook. I really like to keep a low profile on there. I told him about how I don't want to be bombarded with reunion requests/invites. I have lamented about this situation in this blog. I think about 6 times. I did bump up me not going to my reunion to 95%. After thinking about it maybe I should raise it to 98%. He said he is not going.

It was like that time I was a freshman in high school and I had bronchitis. I was out for a week, and I don't know how it started. Somebody started a rumor that I had moved away.

I should take some advice from Hana and not deny or run from my past. Like she did in the J-drama I watched.

As I was walking to the bus stop I tripped on some gnarled tree roots and I turned my ankle. I limped to the bus stop it was about 14 feet away. I could make it. The thing I was most worried about was how my dad would react to it. My ankles are weak. I've turned them at least 7 times since I was 10. Never broke them though. It could be a culmination of old age, weight and weak ankles.

Shirley, my friend and I were all thinking about the same thing. Freaky! Or maybe it is great minds thinking alike?

After I thought about it I think I have the best 3 people in my mind to organize a 10 year high school reunion.

I noticed KTLA added a watermark to their Antenna TV subchannel.

I finished watching Prime Suspect, so I have much better note in case I need them. I have a really strong feeling I do.

New Old TV Shows

Tribute to the Troops was good, but it could have used more wrestling. There were only 2 matches. There were too many musical performances. It's a good show to have.

I was watching those old Antenna TV preview shows. Watching the original version of Gidget and The Monkees made me remember back in the 80s when the "New" versions of those shows came out. The New Gidget, The New Monkees, and The Munsters Today. The Antenna TV logo looks like old one KTLA use to have a long time ago. I don't remember seeing it on tv. It was before my time. I only remember the golden 5 logo, and anything after that.

Watching Gidget also made me think about Gidget from Eureka Seven. She was the one who told Eureka to wear makeup. Which did didn't wear very well; Talho told Eureka she didn't need to wear so much because she is young. That is from my favorite episode "Fantasia".

Ne is the new villain in Survivor lore. It's a good thing they cleared up about quitters who quit around the time the jury is formed. If I ran the show this is what I would have done. Ne and Purple Kelly would not have been in the jury I would have put Yve and Jill instead they were voted out before Alina who was the first member of the jury. Fabio was the winner like I predicted. He was a sleeper. Sash didn't get any votes. Chase is still an idiot. Jane won the fan votes. Is it me or does that hair make him look like Bieber?
I noticed that KCET is also showing H.R Pufnstuf and Lidsville. This is good for the gen-xers who are nostalgic for that. I'll watch it out of curiosity. I think that KTLA is going to show the Rose Parade on all 3 of their channels. Really!?

Sexy Appliance

I was thinking about dressing as an appliance for Halloween. They are somewhat unique. Too bad a lot of them are bulky. I'm not going to be a sexy appliance.

My Top 10 Anime of All Time(Right Now) Part Two

So here is the rest of my top 10 anime that are the greatest as of this very moment. The great thing is that anime seem infinite...there are so many more titles that I would love to get my hands on, but I'm taking my time, trying not to burn myself out.

So, here are the rest of my faves:

• Witchblade: If you simply go by this image...then you're missing out on a spectacular story. One of the reasons I initially avoided this anime was because I thought it was just some anime tie-in to the American Witchblade comic series. Imagine my surprise when, thanks to some offhanded comments from someone who watched it, I checked it out...and fell in love with it. This is mainly because this anime took the intial American concept and told its own story with it. Thus, instead of NYC cop Sara Pezzini, you get the Japanese young woman Masane, who is forcefully bonded with the Witchblade. Its a whole different story here, folks...and I would say that this is its greatest strength! Sure, the chick maybe half-naked here...but you get so much story, similar to Ikki Tousen...the themes of motherhood and destiny are very prominant.
• Those Who Hunt Elves: What do you get when you mix a Japanese schoolgirl who is a military otaku, a meat-headed but deadly martial artist, a highly-intelligent actress, and a dog that does magic...in a fantasy world where they have to strip sexy elves to return to their home dimension? Surprisingly, this isn't at all pornographic. One of the very first anime I encountered, Those Who Hunt Elves is the story about three individuals who, along with a tank(!) are accidently summoned to a fantasy world by Celcia, Mistress of the Elves, to intially battle a world-threatening foe. Of course, the real story takes place afterwards...with the trio having to travel that world to find pieces of a spell that literally tattooed itself on the bodies of five elves. This is one of the funniest anime I've watched, with crazy concepts such as Celcia becoming part of the group as a magic-wielding dog, to the tank becoming possessed by the soul of a cat!
• Jo-Jo's Bizarre Adventure: THE WORLDO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One of the most awesome anime of all time, Jo-Jo Bizarre Adventure is based on the manga by Hirohiko Araki, which in turn spawned Capcom's awesome game. Basically, the story is about these individuals, who can create spiritual warriors from within their bodies called "Stands". These Stands have unique powers such as manipulating fire or electricity; they can be as varied as using dead bodies as weapons or killing with light! Anyway, the Stands are named after cards in a Tarot deck, such as main character Jotaro Kujo's "Star Platnium". Anyway, the anime tells the story of Jotaro and his crew's battle against Dio, one the the craziest, most powerful, and vicious anime villians of all time. He's also a vampire...and unlike ol Dracula, he doesn't care about romance...he's all about brutalizing his enemies and getting the blood of the Jotaro Bloodline. Think Phantom here; just like the title of the Ghost Who Walks is passed down through the generations, the eponymous "Jo-Jo" in the title is unofficially passed down from father to son. The manga seems to cover a few generations of the family bloodline, and in the anime, both JOtaro KuJO and his grandfather(who is the star of one of the previous manga arcs/sagas) is JOnathan JOestar.
• Hellsing Ultimate: I'm not talking about the 13-episode anime, but the spectacular OVA series that has yet to be finished. Still, check out the episodes that have been released so far...great stuff. The story here is this British organization, known as Hellsing, has control over and uses the original and greatest vampire of all time, Alucard, against the undead and Millennium, a remnant unit of Nazis. Alucard can do things that would make Dracula jealous with envy(of course, it is implied that they are the same person)...he can regenerate from ANY wound, fabled anti-vampire weapons or otherwise...and apparently, like Goku or Naruto, he has more states of higher power. My little blurb on the subject doesn't do justice to the story at hand.
• My-Otome/My-Hime: If you like magical girls ala Sailormoon, this is a perfect counterpart for ya. I included both because they both take place in the same universe of sorts or use the same characters in different ways...think Tenchi Muyo/Pretty Sammy. My-Hime came first, and, like Jo-Jo's Bizarre Adventure, it is about schoolgirls who gain powers via outer manifestations of animals and/or warriors. My-Otome, on the other hand, is more straight-forward magical girl fare. Wonderful stories, both!

Lupin the 3rd series III (my final thoughts)

Now that I have watched all of Lupin the 3rd series 3. I can agree that the character's design improve towards the end of the series. I know what bothered me about Fujiko's design so much. It was her eyes. They just looked strange. Especially the bottom lashes. It looked like she was wearing too much mascara and got "spider eyes". Goemon also looked poorly designed. His face looked weird. About halfway through the series they started looking better. I don't know why Jigen has brown hair in this series. In the other 2 his hair is black. Lupin's face looked goofier than usual in this series. The character design of the other characters not the main 5 looked simplistic and most of the women looked the same. They just had different hair. Some of them looked a lot like Fujiko (and they weren't her is disguise)



The episodes were in my opinion hit or miss. I either liked them or thought they were boring. Some were really funny though. I really liked the episode "A Cocktail Named Revenge"(episode #30). It's very Hamlet-esque.

My Top 10 Anime of All Time! (Right Now) Part One

Remember the Japanime features I've have written up before, one on Bleach, and the other for Lelouch of The Rebellion? Well, since I'm very limited as far as Internet access right now, I can't give detailed writeups of awesome anime like I would want to. However, it doesn't stop me from giving you some small blurbs.

If you don't know by now, I'm a huge anime nut, bitten by the bug in 2001 by exposure to Cartoon Network's Toonami Block. Thanks to the awesome anime store in town, I was able to move beyond Sailormoon and Dragonball Z, into Those Who Hunt Elves, Rurouni Kenshin, Sorcerer Hunters, Project A-ko, and Ranma 1/2. Nowdays, I'm in danger of burning myself out with this obessession!

So, I decided, hey, lets put down my top 10 anime of all time, graded basically on concept, character development(in some cases), and story/plot(as it can be debatable with some people). Really, anime fans, check these babies out if you haven't already. Some anime, such as Inu-Yasha, Naruto, One-Piece, and Bleach are not included, because they are extremely long(I think Inu-Yasha is about what, 400 episodes?) and they are the constants in many an anime fan's library of choices.

Instead, the selections on this list are usually short...probably about 20-50 episodes at the most. These selections are not in any order, they are all equally awesome. So, without further adieu, my top 5 of awesome anime of all time:

• Gungrave: Can you believe this anime is based on a video game? Of course, the game in question was created by Yasuhiro Nightow...yes, that Yasuhiro Nightow. The game itself is pretty cool...short, but cool. The anime is...is an awesome exercise of character development, as two best friends, originally homeless young men fighting for scraps in the street, rise through the ranks of the powerful criminal organization Millennium...only to have one friend betray the other. If you've played the game, the various boss characters and the main villian are developed beyond the max in the anime...you get to see how and why these characters chose their paths in life...and how the main hero got to where he is at the start of the story, a gunslinger from beyond the grave!! Now I warn you...this anime takes you to a very dark place...its a tearjerker and violent in some parts. But these characters are developed in such a way that you forget that they represent the villains of society!
• Black Lagoon: John Woo meets girls with guns meets...hell, Gungrave. The girl on the cover with the short shorts? That's Revy. You do not want to f*** with her. Messing with her is like drenching yourself in flammable liquid and walking to hell to stand in the hottest furnace. Like Gungrave, the protagonists of this anime are essentially the bad guys of society...Lagoon Company is a crew of pirates and mercenaries who smuggle goods in Roanapur, a Thailand criminal haven that could be described as hell on Earth. Revy is the psychotic gunslinging muscle of the quartet of main characters, with Rock, the Japanese salaryman abandoned by his company(which led to him "joining" Lagoon Company) as the audience surrogate. If you like those classic John Woo films, or you like a good combination of criminal protagonists and gunbattles, look no further. Seriously, you got nuns with guns, maids with guns, and even a hot Chinese chick with...knives as elements here. But the best element of this anime? Characterization. Reasoning behind these criminals' viewpoints and actions. Wonderful stuff!
• Fullmetal Alchemist: There is a new Fullmetal Alchemist anime out, one that is closer in manga translation than the first series, which I am referencing here. Any American who wants to complain about how ANY animation is for kids...I dare them to find anything on television that is as powerful emotionally as this. You have two children who, while trying to bring back their mother, nearly lose their lives in the attempt. Basically, these two brothers go through a journey of maturity and life, learning from their experiences as they try to find a way to return to normal. Seriously, awesome stuff.
• Tengho Tenge: I'm telling you, that theme song will get to ya! Think of YuYu Hakusho, but instead of taking the supernatural route, it was simply a straight-forward fight anime. That's what you have here, although there is more to simply fighting than that. I'm reluctant to suggest this anime, as it doesn't really finish with its 26 episode...but then again, Black Lagoon did not finish either(although it did have a definite ending of sorts...as in "until next time"-type ending). Basically, the main character and the black character are delinquents who usually beat up students in various schools. However, when they get to the school in the anime, they find out that the students attending here are all badasses. Remember that scene in Kung Fu Hustle when Steven Chow's character found out how bad everyone was in Pig Sty Alley? Like that. And yes, the kid turning into a hot chick? That's Maya Natsume...and that SHAZAM thing is one of her martial arts techniques.
• Ikki Tousen: Fanservice. Few will admit that they actually like it. I f**** love it. I don't care. But the beauty of Ikki Tousen is that the fanservice is simply an element of an awesome story about accepting destiny/avoiding destiny, reincarnation/history repeating itself, and brutal martial arts battles, all centering on the Romance of the Third Kingdoms era of Chinese history. Basically, its Dynasty Warriors meet school fighting anime. Seriously. Famous characters/historical people from that novel and/or period in history are reborn as various schoolgirls and schoolboys, and schools fight each other across Japan to rule them all. Once you get past the panty and breast shots, a wonderful story unfolds about a clueless female warrior who struggles against her destiny, a repeat of her previous Romance of the Third Kingdom's incarnation's death.

Lupin the 3rd Series 3 Halfway Point

Now that I have watched half of Lupin the 3rd Series 3 (pink coat). I have to say the episodes for me are either hit or miss. I still don't know if I can make a fair judgment on it. I don't hate it. It just doesn't seem as good as the 1st and 2nd series.

Going Wild Episode List

I really like the anime Going Wild (English dub title). There is not a lot of info on the series not even on the Japanese version called Pata Pota Monta. I have no idea what that title means.
