LUSH Cosmetics Review

I heard through the grapevine that Lush Cosmetics products were amazing but I never got to try them...until now...and now I am hooked!

Lush Cosmetics have quickly become one of my all time favorite companies from their eco-friendly packaging to their use of fresh and organic ingredients. Read on to learn more about Lush Cosmetics and my review...

A bit about Lush Cosmetics
Lush Cosmetics believe in making effective products from fresh, organic fruit and vegetables, the finest essential oils and safe synthetics. They invent their own products and fragrances. They make all products fresh by hand using little or no preservative or packaging, using only vegetarian ingredients, and even including information about when they were made and who made them. Lush Cosmetics believe in buying ingredients only from companies that do not commission tests on animals and in testing their products on humans. Most of all Lush Cosmetics believes their products are good value,  and that they should make a profit and that the customer is always right.

My Review
I was send The Olive Branch Shower Gel , Coconut Deodorant Powder, and Fizzbanger Bath Bomb to review from Lush Cosmetics.

The Olive Branch Shower Gel was recommended to me by my dear friend Farrah {visit her awesome blog here}. I wasn't quite sure what to expect but I trusted in Farrahs recomendation...and I am SO glad I did! This shower gel is not your normal shower gel... it smells SO good I look forward to opening the bottle every morning...musky, rich, and smoky. The Olive Branch Shower Gel is made from all natural ingredients and leaves my skin super moisturized and super soft.  I absolutely LOVE how fragrant my skin smells after I use this shower gel. It doesn't give much of a lather but that doesn't bother me at all....it does its job as a shower gel perfectly...!

Lush's Coconut Deodorant Powder is quite lovely. Cornstarch, Coconut Oil, Coconut milk powder, and Coconut cream are just some of the ingredients which make up this tropical scented powder. Just as a disclaimer this powder does not stop wetness {as it is not an antiperspirant} but it does stop the smelly body odor. You can use it in under your arms, in your shoes, gym bag, or anywhere else that needs refreshing! My only complaint? The powder is a mess to put on...I would definitely suggest purchasing a makeup brush to apply it with!

The Fizzbanger Bath Bomb was a hit at our house. I placed it in my daughters bath and and  she and I had lots of fun watching it whip around the bathtub. The Fizzbanger Bath Bomb smells like a fresh apple at first and gradualy goes into a caramel apple scent....all while it fizzes, spins, pops, crackles, and turns the bath water different colors. My daughter was astounded by the Fizzbanger Bath Bomb and she loved the little surprise included as well. The Fizzbanger Bath Bomb comes highly recommended...it took over seven minutes to dissolve and it was very entertaining! My daughter {and the bathroom} smelled delicious for about an hour or so after the bath...it was lovely.

I can't say enough about how impressed I am with the products I was sent to review from LUSH Cosmetics. The products are well made and do exactly what they say they will do. I will definitely be purchasing more products from LUSH in the future!

The company did send me a product or service for review. This in no way has affected my opinion of the product or service. This review is my opinion and has been written in my own words.

Printer Happy

After I printed a few things I got an error message and the printer was making a strange grinding noise. I tried to look it up online to see what was the problem, but none of the posted solutions helped. It said there was a paper jam, but there was no paper I could see in there. I fiddled with the thing for at least a half hour.

My dad is not very nice to the printer. He is printer happy. We go through so much ink! He prints out his passwords, e-cards, sports brackets, sports schedules and other meaningless things. I feared this would happen with the first printer we had. This is already our 3rd printer. I remember because before we had a printer, and I was in school they were really strict about what could be printed. Absolutely no photos. All website articles had to cut and pasted into word with the photos removed. We had a computer in art class and the kids would get print happy. Especially since the printer was slow, and it was hard to know if the thing you put in the print queue was going to print. Later on in the class period like 5 pages of the same thing would all print out. I knew my dad was going to get print happy that's just how he is. It's his "toy".

I called the HP customer service which is in India I had a hard time understanding the guy at least he didn't try to use an American name like "Scott" or something. He was unhelpful and was really just trying to sell me another printer. I didn't get Madhuri or Gupta.

I left the broken printer for my dad to "discover". One of his solutions was to get his shop vac and blow air into the printer to get the stuck paper. I used my opposite instinct this time. The old me would have went on and on about how it was a bad idea. I just said I thought it was a bad idea, but that if he thinks its good to go ahead and do it. I was not stopping him. It's a "photosmart"model, but he kept calling it "photoshop". I had no idea what he was talking about or even trying to say.

Then he wanted to go and get if fixed, but he wanted me to come with him. I refused to go. He acts like he is so smart with tech stuff, so he had to do it alone! He called up the place and asked for the worker with the very special last name. He said that if it was really broken I'd have to go to the store with him and get another printer! X-X
I didn't want it to be the same thing all over again! @0@

When he got back he said that they told him to clean the printer. He was mad because they told him to buy a new one. He was also mad because the tech people didn't understand what he was trying to say.

All we needed to do was unplug it a few times with the power turned off. UGH! >:(

Things I learned through August 2011

Goodbye August, and goodbye Summer. Not that we even had one. Sigh. Still, it's my favourite season now - Autumn! Woohoo. Let the fun times begin :)

Here is what I learned through August:

1. I actually do like quorn, just not the quorn 'meatballs'.

2. There is more drama when I work with men compared to when I work with women.

3. Women make better bosses.

4. I do care what people think of me. A little too much maybe.

5. Primark socks are thin enough to be tights. But they're pretty so I can live with that.

6. Autocorrect thinks my Gran is called Tits. She's not. She's Rita.

7. Tits has become the new nickname for my Gran.

8. And she doesn't mind.

9. Putting jeans on straight from the tumble dryer (without giving them time to cool) is painful, because they have those little metal studs don't they? Ouch. Hot metal on skin is painful.

10. Making that mistake once is forgivable, but doing it again means I'm thick as shit, surely?

11. Alternatives to cow's milk are tastier than the real thing. Loving Rice Dream (chocolate and vanilla flavours) and Kara Dairy Free Coconut Milk at the moment. Yum.

12. I've got a crush on One Direction.

13. I shouldn't have a crush on One Direction.

14. My supervisor is leaving. It's only 'temporary' but people who leave never come back. I'm gutted for so many reasons - I get on with her brilliantly, she fights our corner and is fair on us all, and worse, her jobs and duties will fall to me. It's gonna be hell.

15. iPhones do not like buckets of water.

16. To dry out a wet iPhone, you should put it in a tub of rice, and stick it in the airing cupboard.

17. Even when it's dry, your iPhone won't be the same. The sound doesn't work on mine unless I have my earphones in.

18. The new X Factor judges are actually quite good. Me likey. Be better with Simon instead of Louis though.

19. I need a new hobby. Something creative I think.

20. The latest Pixiwoo 50's hair video is absolutely gorgeous, but doesn't really translate well into 'real life'.

21. 2kg is equal to 4.5lbs.

22. I need to trust my gut instincts more.

23. I want to change my hair.

24. Being vegetarian does not mean I have a free reign over chocolate. That's just as bad for me.

25. Eating excessive chocolate will result in gaining back 2lb out of the 4.5lb I lost :(

26. Some people need to learn to help themselves. Other people cannot physically do every-single-thing for you.

27. Time is a great healer, but it doesn't mean you forget.

28. Unless you experience something first hand, you will never truly understand it.

29. H&M do plus size clothes. Huh, I never knew.

30. How to crochet. Well, how to do a 'chain stitch'. My Mam and I are going to crochet some squares each then sew them together to make one big patchwork blanket :) Hopefully! We started on Monday and she's got one square completed, whereas I'm still learning how to do my first corner on the inside. Hmmph!

31. There is a fine line between being sarcastic/witty and being nasty.

What lessons did you learn this month? Hope you had fun learning them!

xoxo

Tulle Review

Modern Clothing with a Vintage twist....why, it must be Tulle!

A bit about Tulle
At its heart, Tulle has always aimed to design vintage inspired modern clothing. The word itself – tulle – conjures up classic notions of femininity and creativity. Tulle fabric has been a basic building block of gowns, veils and, of course, ballet tutus - all beautifully simple silhouettes that are simultaneously designed with great attention to detail. Tulle strives to capture he essence of tulle”and reflect it in all that they create.

With a desire to start a young contemporary collection at an affordable price point, Tulle was launched in 1999. They began with a small collection that focused on outerwear and sweaters. Since then they have grown and now Tulle offers a full sportswear collection of tops, skirts and dresses. Their formula is simple: they soak up their love of vintage fashion, mix it up with vintage and modern silhouettes, and have fun playing with classic and contemporary prints to create a distinctive brand that is both feminine and sweet. Perfect for a day out on the town that can easily be carried into the evening.
Tulle has become an editorial favorite of magazines such as Lucky, In Style, Marie Claire, Real Simple, Glamour and People Style Watch. Aside from being featured in popular magazines, Tulle is also a favorite of many celebrities.

My Review
I was sent the Single Breast Coat in Clover and Two Pocket Tee in Charcoal to review from Tulle.
The Single Breast Coat is made of *60% Wool, 40% Viscose and fully lined in 100% polyester.  The coat is a bright and beautiful green color and is a gorgeous cut with sleek clean lines. My favorite feature of the Single Breast Coat is definitely the double pockets...lots of room for mittens, cough drops, tissues, etc. The Coat is super warm and will be keeping me nice and cozy this fall and winter!
The Two Pocket Tee is perfect for a mom like me who wants to be look fashionable but still be comfortable. It features two pockets along the front of the shirt. I love the fact that this tee is longer than most and has a bit of stretch to it. It is a great addition to any wardrobe because it can be dressed up or down!

The company did send me a product or service for review. This in no way has affected my opinion of the product or service. This review is my opinion and has been written in my own words

Selamat Hari Merdeka 2011

Its that time of the year again that we celebrate our Merdeka celebration but this year, Our National Merdeka Celebration will be postponed due to Hari Raya Celebration that fall on the same day as Merdeka. The 54 years Merdeka Celebration will be held on 16 September 2011 at Dataran Merdeka Kuala Lumpur. Once again, I want to wish "Selamat Hari Merdeka 2011" to all my Malaysian readers and friends. You can read about Malaysia Merdeka coins at my old post: Selamat Hari Merdeka Coins. If you're looking for Malaysia Merdeka logo and Malaysia flag, you can go to my post Malaysia Merdeka 2011. This year Merdeka Theme is "1 Malaysia, Transformation Success, People Peace".

Merdeka 2011 coin

If any of you remember our country history lesson, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, the first Prime Minister of Malaysia, who led a delegation of ministers and political leaders of Malaya in negotiations with the British in London for Merdeka, or independence along with the first president of the Malayan Chinese Association (MCA) Tun Dato Sir Tan Cheng Lock and fifth President of Malaysian Indian Congress Tun V.T. Sambanthan. On 31 August 1957, history of this country began, Malaysia gain independence at Stadium Merdeka (Independence Stadium), in Kuala Lumpur with Tunku Abdul Rahman Shouting "Merdeka!" and everyone share the same joy of independence.

This year Merdeka will be a little bit difference. We can read many news and story how Malaysia unity has changed. Hopefully it will not be any worst in the near future. Nowadays we maybe shouting the same word "Merdeka!" but at the same time deep in some of our hearts, they're dissatisfaction. It hurt when some Malaysian start to praise communist as Malaysia Independence heroes. Malaysian do stupid stuff in the name of politic.

"Selamat Hari Merdeka Malaysia!"

Wish this country unity will keep on stronger every seconds and we can keep living in harmony on the coming years.

My CCA :D

Hey all you bloggers,
well obviously I realise the apparent fact that this post is terribly monotonous but I can't help it this topic is terribly solemn.Alright I'm just joking,do not worry.I am here to talk to you about my CCA.Honestly my CCA to me right now is truly so phenomenally amazing and great. At first I have to admit I was not exactly an adamant fan of it because of the loss of opportunities I had to speak up in this CCA and as many of my faithful bloggers can tell I love to speak out my ideas as well as my thoughts. So it was something extremely necessary for me to enjoy my CCA.But now that I have been accepted into school team, fortunately with the help of God's grace,I now have many opportunities to speak up in Debate.I definitely have a much larger sense of responsibility now that I can put in my input into our discussions and know that my opinion is valued.Which I think is something definitely very exhilarating, the fact that you have a voice and that people listen. That may sound fundamental but to truly have a VOICE is for people to really acknowledge what you say and put it into account which I deeply appreciate.I really truly enjoy my CCA with all the honesty in the world :D.To all my bloggers,if you have CCA's I hope you enjoy them deeply :) just as much as I do

Simply me

Frog and Mouse (both owned by Warner)

People so fondly remember Pinky and the Brain. It made me their think of the cartoon. Most people around my age so fondly remember them. It's like their cartoon "Puppet Rulers". In that cartoon Pinky and the Brain appear on this kid's show that is a parody of Beanie and Cecil called "Meanie and Treacle". Their characters are Big Ears and Noodle Noggin. They freeze them selves and then hope to be fondly remembered by children in the future and rule the world! It backfires and when they come back the adults are upset that they abandoned them. I think it's funny when I'm wearing the shirt and people who remember it get mad at me like I took it away or know what happened to it. 'I'm just a fan."

While I was waiting around for the call (to my cell). It made me think of the Street Frogs. Here is a quick summary of what the Street Frogs is. It's a cartoon from 1987 about some hip-hop frogs. The cartoon also had a musical montage. There are 5 of them Big Max, Honey Love Loretta, Dr. Slick, Spider, and Moose. (from left to right ) They usually take odd jobs to make "seed" which is slang for money.

I was thinking of the episode "The Phone Call". Here is a quick summary of the episode Max, Spider, Moose and Dr. Slick are helping somebody move. Slick is waiting for a phone call although he denies it. He keeps missing calls, and it ultimately distracted.
Here are the lyrics to the original song featured.

Male:
The one thing I really hate to do

Is sit around the house and wait for you to call me on the phone
I really hate that sitting alone
It's such an awful thing

Male and Female:
(chorus) waiting for the phone to ring

waiting for the phone to riiiiiing

Male:
I hate pretending like I'm reading a book

I hate pretending like I'm learning to cook
Don't like to watch tv, afraid to take a walk
Afraid she'll miss me afraid you'll wanna talk

Male and Female:
What the heck's a guy to do?

While he's waitin' for a call from you
While he's waitin' for the phone to ring
Pretending it don't mean a thing

Male:
whether you call or not

You're on (can't make this lyric out)

Female:
The on thing I really hate to do

Is sit around the house and wait for you to call me on the phone
I really hate that sitting alone
It's such an awful thing

Male and Female:
(chorus) waiting for the phone to ring

waiting for the phone to riiiiiing

Female:
I hate pretending that the clock is wrong

To keep on listin' to the same old song
Each time I hear that note I almost lose my cool
With that ding-a-ling I'm just a silly fool

Male and Female:
What the heck's a girl to do?

While she's waitin' for a call from you
While she's waitin' for the phone to ring
Pretending it don't mean a thing

Female:
whether you call or not

You're on (?)

The frogs mess up a lot of the stuff they tried to move, and have to pay for it. Later an announcement is made on the radio from Tiffany to Dr. Slick. Since she couldn't reach him on the phone she's going to babysit.Who can do hip hop better than a frog can? Street Frogs!

All lyrics and images are copyright to their original owners.

When I re-watched this cartoon about 3 years ago. I realized how outdated it was.

I had submitted a few summaries of the cartoons to tv.com, but for some reason they are having issues with the site again.

I didn't get the job :(
