Model Fashion Clothes

model fashion clothes
Erin Wasson will be sketching, rather than catwalking, for her latest endeavor: clothing designer. The model, who played muse and stylist for Alexander Wang's last two collections, will be designing a 2009 Spring collection for Rvca.
“I’m going to get my rocks off seeing girls in California skating around wearing my clothes more than I think I will seeing it in the fashion world,” said Wasson.
The Erin Wasson for Rvca line, which has already had interest from Opening Ceremony, will range from $55 for low cut tanks to $230 for frayed denim shorts. Look forward to a collection filled with cotton tops, denim, miniskirts, and blazers detailed with zippers and thunderbolts. Don't worry, the model doesn't plan on quitting her day job anytime soon: “Oh, no, honey. You don’t bite the hand that feeds you,” said Wasson.

Decorator Fashion Show

The author of the example is Héctor Calle E.
Models in a fashion show have to change their clothes all the time to present new items to the public. With AKVIS Decorator plug-in they can take a break - the program applies a new texture and color to the clothes in a flash.

Step 1. Open the image in a photo editor compatible with AKVIS Decorator. In this example we are going to work with Adobe Photoshop. We will apply a new texture/color to the model's clothes and accessories.

Step 2. Select the suit of the girl using any selection tool. In Adobe Photoshop we can use the Magnetic Lasso tool.

Step 3. After selecting call Decorator from the menu of the photo editor, Filter > AKVIS > Decorator.

Step 4. Select a suitable texture from the Texture Library. For this purpose open the Texture Library with a double click of the left mouse button on the box with a texture. We select the Fabric group from the group's tree and choose pattern No.6. Press the button Run and see the result in the After tab. If you are satisfied, press the button Apply to apply the changes and close the plugin's window

Step 5. So we changed the color of the suit, but we also want to recolor the accessories. Let's change the color of the sunglasses. Select the sunglasses using the Magnetic Lasso tool.
Then we called AKVIS Decorator again and choose a green color. Press the button Run and see the result in the After tab. If you are satisfied, press the button Apply to apply the changes and close the plugin's window.

Step 6. Do the same with her necktie. Now we choose another tint of green color for recoloring necktie.

Here is the final result. There is no limit to creativity! As you can see working with AKVIS Decorator is very easy!

If I was a Rich Girl, I'd Match my Clothes, If I was a Weathly Girl

I'm still felling really lethargic.

While I was watching The Office this one quote from Dwight made me laugh so much. "Wait less matching to appear more rich?" That totally sounds like something my dad would say. After I heard that on the show I couldn't stop laughing. Perhaps the person who wrote that knows my dad. When I was a kid he would always tell me that matching monochromatic clothes gave off the appearance that you are rich. When he use to work in an office he use to coordinate his underwear with his socks (true story!) LOL XD He use to get me to dress like that when I was a kid. I liked the monochromatic look when I was like 4. It reminded me of contestants on Double Dare. The monochromatic look really works if you are a Loli, a Color Kid from Rainbow Brite, or doing some kind of photo spread for a magazine.

I thought it was funny when Erin didn't understand the concept of disposable cameras. How old is she suppose to be? Erin is a bit off. At least she didn't think there was some kind of outside packaging on the camera.

How Hibiscus or Bunga Raya became Malaysia National Flower
Once Malaysia achieved independence in 1957, Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra AI-Haj expressed a desire to find a suitable flower to declared as the National flower for Federation of Malaya. Thus, he has directed the Ministry of Agriculture to find the flowers in the country to be selected as the national flower. After a thorough search for a while and ended at the end of 1958, the Ministry of Agriculture highlighted the seven types of flowers kenanga, hibiscus, melor, lotus, rose, cempaka and tanjung (sorry, I don't know their name in english).

From all the flowers chosen, hibiscus has been officially announced as the national flower of the Federation of Malaya on 28 July 1960 by Prime Minister of Malaysia. The selection was made based on the uniqueness of the self-interest than other flowers. The red hibiscus flower was seen as a symbol of political and economic strength and courage of the people in the nature of challenges. Meanwhile, the five petals are means of five Fundamental principles. Hibiscus also has a lot of color, shape and size reflect the different races, religions and cultures of the various races living in peace and harmony.
These commemorative coins are minted and distributed by Bank Negara Malaysia and will be available for sale from 1 October 2010 at Bank Negara Malaysia's headquarters and its branches located in Pulau Pinang, Johor Bahru, Kuala Terengganu, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching.

Scratch and Sniff Feature and Giveaway

Are you a dog lover or know one? Looking for a holiday gift that is both personal and one-of-a-kind? Well then you are in luck! Scratch and Sniff carries gorgeous handmade dog silhouettes cut from unique and vintage paper. Don't see the dog you are looking for? Custom Silhouettes are available upon request.

Lou is the owner of Scratch and Sniff and I was lucky enough to have her answer some questions for you readers...

Why did you start your Etsy shop?
I actually "attempted" to open my shop over a year ago. I tried selling photos I've taken with not much luck and not much knowledge of how to make it in the etsy world. I knew I had to come up with something people would want and something that was one of a kind. I took a break and only just a month ago it came to me- I could do dog silhouettes cut out from vintage and unique papers! It was a lightbulb moment. I have a miniature dapple dachshund and I work from home so he's my best friend. We spend every day together and he's my inspiration for everything that I do.. oh and my husband too ;-)

How many Sales do you have?
Since I opened just over a month ago I have had 21 sales! Great compared to the 2 sales I had in one year of not doing the dog silhouettes. I'm excited for the future of this shop. Most of the pieces I've sold were actually custom. I love doing custom pieces because it's more meaningful to the customer and it will stay in their home. It's a great feeling knowing that you're making something that people will cherish and tell others about. I especially like doing breeds I may not have even heard of! Sometimes if you have a unique breed of dog, you may not find as many items that feature that dog. I can do any breed since they are custom!

Whats your favorite item?
It's not a fair question in a way, I'm bias towards the dachshund silhouettes. I really love the floral love piece, it was actually one of the first ones I've made. Not sure why it hasn't sold, but I think each piece has a certain owner that will come along, it's just a matter of time.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
I recently moved to Newport Beach about 6 months ago from the desert of Arizona. It's so wonderful here and I love to go to the beach! I also am a dog photographer, I organize a dachshund group in OC, and I volunteer for a local rescue. It's all about making a difference one person or dog at a time. I also was a basketball player from second grade until college so I love to play sports as well.

Your Favorite Movie?
I really don't have a favorite actually. I recently have gotten addicted to shows, but usually not a huge tv person. Is that weird I don't have a favorite!? haha I could list a lot of movies that I do love, but to narrow it down to one would be hard.

Favorite Dessert?
Now this is my kind of question! My other thing I do in my spare time is bake. I LOVE any kind of dessert but mostly cake. I love frosting to narrow it down closer, the sweeter the better! I experiment with cupcakes at least a couple times a month. It's fun and I will never turn down an offer to go get dessert.

Favorite Holiday?
There isn't one in particular that is my favorite, but I do enjoy christmas with the family. Since I moved away from my family, any excuse to see them again is great. I feel like the spirit during christmas is a happy time with lots of giving which is wonderful.

September 2010 favourites

Hello cupcakes - hope you are all okay. September seems to have whizzed past in a blur really. It hasn't been a good month, which I won't bore or depress you with, but let's just say I'm glad to see the back of it! I'm looking forward to what the rest of 2010 holds, and dare I say the C-Word? I'm super excited for it! Christmas is my favourite time of the year and from October onwards I'm like a child, and get all excited during the build up to it. Anyway, back to the task at hand, some products that I have enjoyed using during September:

Lush Happy Blooming Bath Melt
I bought my first ever one of these at the beginning of the month and have gone through several more since. It smells beautiful, like sweet cherries, and it makes my skin feel lovely and soft. When I was buying my latest one, the Lush assistant said she uses this a lot and her favourite way to use it is to rub it onto her damp skin before stepping into the bath. I was a bit dubious about trying that method as I once got stained by a pink bath ballistic, but I tried it anyway and she was right - that is the best wat to use it! I dampen it and rub it all over, then sink into a lovely hot bath and watch it all melt away. The pink doesn't stain and my skin feels extra soft afterwards - far more soft than using the melt in the traditional way. This is a firm Lush favourite ever.

Urban Decay Naked Palette
This one had to feature this month. You've all seen it by now so I won't go into too much detail about it. I have used it every single day since I've had it and I am still not bored of it. Everyday I have a new favourite shade, but my most used are definitely Naked, Buck and Toasted. Oh so pretty.

Good Things Dream Cream Night Cream
I reviewed this here. My oh my, this is a gorgeous cream. I love how my skin looks and feels since I've been using this, and I haven't needed as much foundation during the day either. Even the cold weather can't make my skin dry out, and I think it's because this cream nourishes so intensely. I also like to use this as a hydrating mask. I spread a thick layer over my skin and leave it to sink in for about 10-15 minutes, then wipe away the excess with a cotton pad. I love, love, love it.

MAC Stereo Rose MSF
Now, I'm not going to lie, I only bought this because of the hype. When I got it, I thought it was pretty, but I hardly used it. In an attempt to use some of my unloved things, I started wearing it on it's own as a blush, and I have fallen in love. It gives me just the right amount of peachy-coral flush, with a lovely shimmery glow. It's been a lovely contrast to the smokey eyes I've been creating with my Naked palette.

Got2B Guardian Angel Heat Protectant
I'm not usually fussy when it comes to heat protectants for my hair. Don't get me wrong, I use them all the time, but I'm not fussy over brand as I think they do the same thing. My hair has been looking healthier since I've been using this one though, and I don't know whether it's a coincidence, whether it's the combination of hydrating products I've been using, or whether this has been protecting against heat better than the others. It smells lovely, has lasted me ages considering how long and thick my hair is, and only cost about £4, so is definitely my favourite heat protectant by far.

Dior Airflash Foundation
This foundation has a bit of history in my family. My cousin got married 2 years ago, and her skin looked amazing. We later found out that this is the foundation she used, and no word of a lie, every female in my family has used this foundation at some point since. Slowly but surely, we've all bought a can of it, and I can see the attraction. It's a spray foundation but isn't as messy as you'd think. The one I've got is slightly too dark for me now the sun has gone away, so I was sharing my Granny's whilst she stayed with us. It doesn't cake, looks healthy and dewy all day, and I didn't need to set it with a powder afterwards either. I don't tend to have trouble with my blush lasting, but it seemed to last a lot longer when I was wearing this foundation. I'm reluctant to use it everyday since it cost £32, but I couldn't help myself this month and used it a LOT!

The Ice Cream Girls by Dorothy Koomson
This book has gripped me. I've ben enthralled since the first page and it has evoked so many emotions in me. I love Dorothy Koomson books anyway, as her stories are always well written and thought provoking, and this one is no exception. Don't be fooled by the cutesy cover - she tackles really sensitive issues, like sexual abuse, rape and murder, and I couldn't put it down. One of my favourite books of the year!

What have you been loving this month?

xoxo

2011 Medal of Honor Commemorative Coins

United States Mint Deputy Director Andy Brunhart unveiled designs for the 2011 Medal of Honor Commemorative Coin Program today at the Congressional Medal of Honor Society's annual convention in historic Charleston, S.C. The bureau is minting and issuing the commemorative coins in recognition and celebration of the establishment of the Medal of Honor in 1861, as authorized by Public Law 111-91, the Medal of Honor Commemorative Coin Act of 2009. Options will include gold $5 coins and silver $1 coins in proof and uncirculated qualities.

Gold Obverse
Designer: United States Mint Sculptor-Engraver Joseph Menna
Engraver: United States Mint Sculptor-Engraver Joseph Menna
Description: Depicts the original Medal of Honor authorized by Congress in 1861 as the Navy's highest personal decoration. The inscriptions are LIBERTY, 1861–2011, IN GOD WE TRUST and MEDAL OF HONOR.

Gold Reverse
Engraver: AIP Master Designer Joel Iskowitz
Sculptor: United States Mint Sculptor-Engraver Michael Gaudioso Description: The design features Minerva, based on the common central image on both the original Navy and Army Medals of Honor. Minerva, standing with a shield representing the Army and Navy in her right hand and the Union flag in her left hand, is flanked by a field artillery cannon and wheel of the Civil War era. Inscriptions are UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, $5 and E PLURIBUS UNUM. The gold coin designs are emblematic of the heritage and legacy of the original Medal of Honor and the era in which it was first established.

"The men and women of the United States Mint are honored by the role we will play in connecting America to the values and qualities of courage, sacrifice and patriotism through the 2011 Medal of Honor Commemorative $5 Gold and Silver Dollar Coins," said Deputy Director Brunhart.

Mintages for the Medal of Honor Commemorative Coin Program are limited to 100,000 gold $5 coins and 500,000 silver $1 coins. Surcharges collected from coin sales ($35 for each gold coin and $10 for each silver coin) are authorized to be paid to the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation to help finance its educational, scholarship and outreach programs.

The Medal of Honor is the highest award for valor in action against an enemy force that can be bestowed upon an individual serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. It is presented to a person who distinguishes himself or herself conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his or her life above and beyond the call of duty. The medals are presented by the President in the name of Congress.
