Enviro-“mental”

I had this strange dream about my parents my mom had the power to teleport she was bothering me while I was trying to cook leeks for soup or something. My dad was upset because his Buick got in an accident and was totaled. He was also upset because somebody offered to buy the broken car off him for $1.25.

I forgot it was Earth Day until I saw it mentioned on The Price is Right. I wrote a funny Earth Day tweet referencing a lyric from "What are we Gonna Do?". I wrote "Happy Earth Day send the message".
Later when I was looking for a video on one of my tapes I found the video for the Dramarama song "What are we Gonna Do?" this was purely coincidental I was looking for a Moby video.

Back in 1999 my high school threw an Earth Day fair type thing. I remember part of the outfit I wore that day. I wore a blue jacket with a black faux fur collar and a pikachu shirt. It looks like the jacket Gwen is wearing in this picture. I was my first time wearing that pikachu shirt to school. The jacket was low cut, so the pikachu was prominently shown.

I spent most of my time with my friend and her boyfriend. The games were free. Most of the prizes given out were mostly junky fish shaped things. They reminded me of my pet fish. A few games were giving out erasers.
They were those ones that look like the world. The student government was making and giving out balloon animals. The problem was that they hadn’t practiced, and there were only 2 girls making them. When we got there it looked like they were just opening up a klutz book and a pack of balloons. About 1%-3% of the students at the fair got a balloon animal or hat.

The food was gross. The only food they were selling were overly greasy Rice Krispie treats and cucumber with chili powder on top. My friend bought some treats and they were so greasy we could barley hold on to them. They were sliding out of our hands, and they were wrapped.

I got bored with hanging out with my friend and her boyfriend. I was just a 3rd wheel. I decided to wander around on my own. I "ran into" my crush twice. Later I ran into my math tutor. There was a craft area and I tried to make some kind of pom pom animal with tacky craft glue, but it fell apart. I purposely ran into my crush, and told him that the ugly necklace he made was good. I wanted him to comment on my coat. There were also some sea animals that could be pet. I pet those. Then I wanted to play a game and the guy running it (a student) said let the Pokemon girl play. I thought this was hilarious.

In my class after the fair most of the people in the class were pelting each other with the erasers given as prizes. That class was composed of mostly hooligans, and the teacher had no control over the class.

When my math teacher saw a balloon dog somebody had. He said it was made wrong. He tired to fix it. He said somebody's balloon hat looked pornographic. (it sort of did)

Purple Tweed Dress

Today was hiring day at McDonald's my dad got mad at me for "hogging" the computer. I applied to about 10 restaurants, but all I got were automated replies.

Glee was funny! Mercedes being a diva asking for a bunch of crazy things. I did that once too. The only reason this was on my mind was because I was reading old diaries again to get ideas for my comic. What happened to me was a group of girls I went to school with about 4 wanted to start a singing group. They wanted me to join, but I thought it was a bad idea. Their style was going to be pop/R&B. I thought it was more sensible to start a ska or swing band. Mind you this was 1998. Here was my crazy demand; I wanted a purple tweed dress. (If anybody knows their No Doubt history would know why I wanted this) I assumed nobody would produce it, and they didn’t. I didn’t join the group. They said I could be the manager instead. I’m not sure exactly what I was managing. The group broke up quickly due to inner conflicts.

Brittany uses a novelty pen it can be seen in the scene where Holly is talking about history. It was funny when she knew a lot about cat diseases. Well she does think her cat reads her diary.

I noticed that the guy who plays Vocal Adeline’s coach isn’t in 30 Rock or at least I have not seen him in the show recently. Maybe since Thanksgiving.

What I don't get about the benefit concert was that not even New Directions' family came. That was pretty strange not even somebody's mom or bother or something. Besides Kurt.

I got a call for a job today, but I got it late in the day for tomorrow. I'm not going.

Vague and Inane

Tony is the first of the band members to have a girl baby. Coco? Conan you've got some competition. ;P Congrats to Tony and his family.

I can believe my dad thought my ankle would be healed already. I hurt it yesterday. Nothing is quick enough for my dad.

After thinking about what my friend told me yesterday, and how he thought I moved out of state even though I moved about 5 miles away. It came back to me after doing some research. It was my birthday, and birthdays always make me act a little weird. I remember reading his blog and it was so sad. I was feeling emotional and nostalgic because it was my 25th birthday. As I was reading his blog I was listening to the album "Bleed Like Me". I think I might have been a sugar high. That affects my writing. I sent him some vague/inane message on facebook. I wanted to quote his blog and I usually ask permission when I do that if the blog belongs to somebody I know in case the person wants a link or something.

I didn't really talk to him again until I thought I offended him by mentioning him in a blog reviewing the episode Today is the Day (part 1).

In The Office Andy's business seminar was really bad. Most of what he said can be learned in a basic business class. He is a horrible closer. He should have done a summary close or impending event. He did a mixture of closes. A salesperson should never threaten in a close.

Journey to Adulthood

I'm still very worried about dressing like an adult. I don't want to be one of those women who dress badly and get laughed at behind their backs. Maybe that is already happening by the way I dress now.

I'm getting rid of all my nerd culture clothes.

Over the years I've been a bad dresser ever since I can remember. Maybe when I was a baby I didn't dress badly. I went through many phases. Punky Brewster: pigtails and vests, Pacifier: I constantly wore one of those pink plastic pacifiers on a necklace, Kimberly the Pink Ranger: I wore pink clothes and brown boots, I wanted to dress like Gwen in this picture:
Here is an excerpt from a story I was working on for my memoir class that I didn't finish. It was about the way I dressed and other stylish girls in my grade.

"As a kid I hated the way I dressed. For a lot of years I dressed too childish. By third grade I had grown out of those frilly dresses with the matching white tights and white patent leather Mary Jane shoes. When I started school there because of the year round schedule it was still summer, so I had to get new summer clothes for school. My clothes were usually basic, but coordinated; whatever Sears had to offer in kids clothes. I couldn’t wait until I could wear the cool clothes in the juniors section. Those were the cool clothes the teenagers wore. I had all these wild printed shorts and coordinating tank tops. Some of the pairs of shorts were made to look like boxer shorts; they had a faux fly. The shorts were very garish with bright neon colors. One pair had fuchsia palm trees printed on them with a sunset scene"

I think my style guides will be the fictional characters Blair Waldorf and Emma Pillsbury. I love the way they dress, so polished.

Group Costume Ideas

I have a great idea for people who want a group costume and are fans of Conan O'Brien. Dress as Conan and different people from his show. Here are some suggestions:

Andy

Max

Bernard (extra points if you have a fake recliner or talk about anime or sic fi stuff)

The Masturbating Bear (and the scientists that probe him)

Triumph

La Bamba

Year 2000/3000

The "Ass" Stamp

I have another group idea; dress as Gwen Stefani. I've seen people do Madonna and Britney Spears, but I've never seen Gwen done before. The group could consist of:

Pre-"Tragic Kingdom" Gwen wear cheerleader outfits or overalls. "Trapped in a Box" would also work or even a conductor uniform.

"Tragic Kingdom" Gwen wear crop tops and bondage pants or any outfit she wore in a video from that era

"Return of Saturn" Gwen have pink hair! Skirt pants, "X" tanktops and lots of eyeliner. or any video from that era

"Rocksteady" Gwen long blond hair, "Rock" and "Steady" rings. Show your underwear band. For a sexy costume I recommend the "Underneath it All" video

"L.A.M.B." Gwen wear an Alice in Wonderland dress or a majorette uniform

"The Sweet Escape" Gwen wear something from the "Wind it Up" video

You could also dress as Gwen from their latest tour with a white shirt and black pants. Or dress as singles collection Gwen. Or even Gwen from the "It's My Life" video. Or even "Let Me Blow Ya Mind" or "Southside". (bonus points if you lick somebody's bald head.)

Miscellaneous blog #37

Watched Fashion's night out yesterday night. Too bad Gwen wasn't in it much. Good thing Letterman was on vacation or he probably would have bitched about that.

UTB is showing a new drama and replacing the 10PM anime :( They are showing Keitaideka Zenigata Ai. If they show 6 of the different series that will be 183 episodes. There is a 7th series that has 13 episodes. Plus those episodes will make 196. I'm not sure if there is an 8th series or more. There is not much on this series. When I first read the title I thought it had something to do with the Lupin character.

Congrats to Tony Kanal! He and Erin are having a baby. He is the last member of the band to have a kid (core 4 members). I wonder if he will have a boy? Everybody else in the band has a boy.

I'm still really suspicious about my dad being enthusiastic about the comic book festival this weekend. Maybe he is going to try and sell his sports cards or something.

Saw the new season of Survivor. Tip #1 don't talk over Jeff. It's better to keep to yourself than to blather on at tribal council. "Fabio" was hilarious. He sort of remind me of Toast from Histeria or maybe that Eek the cat cartoon that Fabio guest starred in. I was just waiting for Jimmy Johnson to sell me some man pills or something. I was raised not to like the Cowboys. Especially since a lot of football fans in LA became Cowboys fans after the Rams and Raiders left. His name is common. Some people were confusing him with the race car driver. It would have been like my James Brown dilemma which coincidentally involved a football commentator. Too bad some of the older and younger people from my last class could have been on the show. I'm sure the popular guy would have entranced a few without him knowing it.

Happy Anniversary I’m Climbing Scaffolding!

Ok so I was going to write this anniversary, but there were a lot of problems. First of all my internet connection is acting really strange. So don't be alarmed if I go missing. Oh yeah I decided not to blog about what happened in class today even if there is a funny antidote that goes with it. I'll post it tomorrow or possibly in the leftovers blog.

I never finished the blog. A lot of stuff came up. This is how much of it I wrote. It's a really long story.

"Today is the 10 year anniversary of me going to my first No Doubt concert!

This is one of my 'retired stories'. I tell it too much.

It was a strange trip. It all started the week before when I was listening to the KROQ Music News. Do they still play those segments anymore? Anyway they said that if you bought a copy of 'Return of Saturn' at the Costa Mesa Virgin Megastore you could see a free No Doubt show. I reveled at the thought of this. I had been so desperate to see No Doubt for all those years.

At first I was trying to plot alone, but the excitement overcame me and I blabbed about it to my mom."

Well anyway here's the gist of it. So I convince my parents to let me go to the midnight CD release with my dad. I could go on one condition I had to keep up with school and not be grouchy due to lack of sleep. We waited like all night. We got home at like 3AM. I was suppose to be doing "important" things at school like being worried about standardized testing, and assignments and other boring stuff like that. I was being a "bad" student not caring about school. I usually care about too much anyway. It was nice to be bad and have a break. Anyway I studied really hard. I mean the "Return of Saturn" CD. I had like 2 days to learn it. One thing did happen. I found my new favorite No Doubt song; "Staring Problem".

Ok so on the night of the show I'm scared because I didn't know how I would react to seeing No Doubt in person. I thought I was either going to cry or throw up. Luckily neither of those happened. I was just really excited. I didn't really know what to wear so I wore one of my No Doubt shirts. I also wore my platform Skechers hoping I could get a better view of the band. The one thing that disappointed me was that Gwen looked shorter in person. Other than that it was a great show! They even played my favorite No Doubt song! "Staring Problem". Well I thought I requested it, but maybe they had a set list... Towards the end of the show Gwen climbed the scaffolding and was singing while holding onto it. Whenever I see Gwen climb scaffolding it makes me think about that show and makes me nostalgic. And of course I used that story as material for that story writing project I did in 10th grade.

This Entry is fill of Artificial Sweetener

Today is a very historic day in the No Doubt world today is the 10th anniversary of the release of No Doubt's 4th album “Return of Saturn”.

This album and I have a lot of history together. I was going to write a cute little story about it, but I didn't have time. (I'm still caught up on that volleyball game from neopets.) Maybe I'll post that story in a few days. Uh...let me just say that to date this is the only No Doubt album I purchased at midnight. But that goes along with the story. ^-^ Like I've said before I kept writing about them for 10th grade English class and drove my teacher crazy. True story!

Or the time I tired to purchase No Doubt tickets and ran into some Smashing Pumpkins fans and a misguided Lakers fan.

Speaking of neopets and "Return of Saturn" I use to run a "Return of Saturn" themed gallery on there for a few years until I realized nobody really got the theme of it, so I changed it.

Too bad I don't have pink hair now. Maybe I'll use some of that colored hairspray I have lying around. LOL! :P Maybe not.
Just to specify in my last blog "my ass" was referring to the really hard score neopets set the game at. This is not an "ass blog". Wait...that came out wrong. Or maybe it can be in Ass Möde like Ferguson says.

miscellaneous blog #31

I was so happy to get the day off. the problem is that I tend to get distracted. I was suppose to be reading my sales book and I ended up writing an outline for a story I'm writing. I can't get into sales. I find it more pleasurable to write instead.

I should be studying I have a test coming up. :0
The 2nd book we have to read for assigned reading for my class. I thought the book was about (American) football. The author of the book has the same name as a football player. I was disappointed the book is not about football, but it is very enjoyable.

Doing class activities online wasn't so bad. I said I was going to write to Garbage music, but I wrote to No Doubt music instead.

Profit from Pain

It’s strange when it rains in April even if it is an El Nino year. It just throws me off. I feel like it’s December or January or something. The weather reminded me a little of when I went to the Ferguson taping. Then it made me think about writing that story for class. But I really want to write a No Doubt story since I haven’t written one yet. I don’t want it to be like 10th grade again where we had this class project to write a book about your life. The project was inspired by the book The House on Mango Street. I wrote a bunch of No Doubt stories, and my teacher got sick of reading them. It’s not like I was going to write about my siblings. You know I’ll be in my memoir class with all these Shirley stories and everybody’ll groan when I read another one. I'll try to limit it to just one Shirley story. The funny thing is that it is recommended that a person writes about their obsessions. I should really focus on 4th, 5th and 7th grade since those are periods I told myself I was going to write about. I mentioned 4th grade before. I guess I can keep writing memoirs after the class is over. Nobody says I have to stop. Plus my blogs the old myspace one and this one are chock full of memoir stories like the one I wrote about the roller rink.

Maybe I should write that story about writing about No Doubt too much for my memoir class. That'd be a fun read. Maybe I should nab something from this blog.

I had to listen to my rainy music. "Only Happy When it Rains". I wore my leather boot too. What do you know? I was hoping to see a rainbow, but I didn't. :(

I'm really getting this memoir I'm reading for class. It's the other assigned reading book. It's pretty dark. This is not the Mister Ed book I'm talking about. I'm reading 2 books at the same time. I really like that darker memoir better than that last one we had to read.

Which gave me the idea I should profit off the relationship with my dad. You know like writing a book, or making a movie, or a comedy album.

I accidentally hit some girl with my backpack today. I was weird she was just walking behind me at the bus stop. I swung it because I thought nobody was behind me. There was a lot of room for her to walk. The bus stop wasn't crowded at the time.

Cut another finger today by accident. The middle finger this time. So sorry if my typing is even worse. Both times I cut my finger while chopping meat. Maybe I should lay off the meat.

I'm Going to Sleep my Life Away

"I'm gonna sleep all trough the day, I'm gonna sleep my life away". I wish I could really do that. I hate when my dad spends a whole afternoon studying and needs "quiet time". Which usually leads to long naps and eating meals over the sink. He hogs up the whole dining room table for his "studies". Why did he even bother spending all weekend studying and doing his homework if he was going to ditch class anyway? That really makes no sense!

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that after my dad won the contest he was exhibiting strange clingy behavior. He kept trying to call me at school one day and was wasting my prepaid minutes. It wasn’t even for anything important!

Aside from my dad's study skills I'm still thinking of a hair style for St. Patrick's Day. I think I will reuse some of my old Christmas hair decorations. They are green and can be useful. I really liked that hair decoration Meredith was wearing in her hair in the most recent episode of The Office. I want something like that for my hair. Isn’t the Meredith character Irish? Too bad I don't have a Conan shirt to wear.

Come in with the Breeze

Somebody's phone went off in class and was ringing "Sunday Morning" which I thought was funny because my phone rings "Spiderwebs". The even stranger thing was that I was thinking about (but not listening to) the song "Sunday Morning" before class.

Aside from that coincidental and freaky event in class nothing particularly interesting happened. I feel like I've been the Sanrio ambassador in class. That is not a bad thing though.

Leftovers

I did not put them in a jar. A little No Doubt reference for you. ;)

Actually I over looked my last few blogs and there were a few things I forgot to mention. So here they are in this leftovers blog.

Here are some of the things I forgot to mention. Ok, on Monday my dad was getting mad and needed constant tech support to use the printer. I still can’t stand the sight of it, but I needed to get ready for my first day of school. I didn’t have time to bother with his computer illiteracy antics. Luckily I ignored him and he just stopped bothering me.

I was so sick of him complaining about all the rules at his school. I told him “Just shut up and go to school”. I mean really?

I noticed that on Wednesday and Thursday the massive crowds at school seemed to thin out. Maybe the people who wanted classes couldn't add them?

I forgot to mention that I’m trying to come up with stories for my class. Anyway you are suppose to get ideas from anywhere, and I got an idea from a story by hearing none other than the song “Sunday Morning” by No Doubt. It was like I was suppose to hear that song. That song has a lot of memories attached to it including a lot of funny stories. Then I remembered that crappy novel I wrote back then that I could use for a source. A lot of those stories just need to be cleaned up. That will be less work for me if the stories are somewhat out there. They should really be typed though.

I've still be trying to figure out why I can't force myself to post on that board, and it sort of came to me while I was on Shirley's facebook page. I post things on her page all the time, and most of the time they are pretty inane things. I thought "Why?". Maybe it's because I'm in similar company with the darklings? Sorry if this sounds repetitive here. I guess I'm just trying to get my thoughts out or something.

Aside from still trying to get myself to post on the board. We have make something artsy that shows off your personality and bring it to the next class session. I guess there is a use for all those pictures that I've been saving for something...

Speaking No Doubt I've been thinking about Gwen lately. I had this really funny dream about her this morning.

You know my dad still doesn't know how to flag an email on yahoo. I have to show him like every time.

Adolescent Monsoon

Does the phrase in the title look familiar to you? It's from the No Doubt song "Ache"that appeared on their self titled album. The song is about wisdom teeth. Eric Stefani was such a prolific lyricist.

The funny thing is that my baby cousin, and I are teething at the same time. Actually I thought I was not going to get wisdom teeth because a lot of people who are around my age don't get them anymore. I also started getting them at an old age. I thought I would get them when I was like 18 or around there.

Music Blog

Oops I accidentally posted a blank entry by hitting the "Enter" key. x.x

Here are 2 music related topics I'm going to throw all together in a catch all blog.

I'm saddened by the closing of Smart Studios. It's a pretty historic place to the Darkings. Aside from it being a historic place in Garbage history. It is also historic to other bands like Nirvana. Butch has a pretty impressive resume aside from his work with Garbage.

Too bad I didn't get to see it. Well you know I still haven't seen all the historic local No Doubt related places. It's not like I was going to Wisconsin anytime soon. Although I'd like to sample some cheese there.

I'm still working on my Beastie Boys parody song. It's called "Casserole" and is a parody of "Sabotage". I've only written the first 2 paragraphs though.

Casserole

Don’t eat it, you don’t need it
You can’t relate to the food I make
Your insults are really mean
Cause my oven door really isn’t clean
If you don’t want it then say goodbye
Quicker than the omelet I fried
Not blackened or made of coal
I'm tellin' y'all it's a casserole

So, so, so, so listen up 'cause you can't taste nothin'
You act like I cooked something made of mutton
I’m feeling really withdrawn
Good thing I didn’t cook you a prawn. Spam!
