It's been 10 years since. I remember it pretty well. I did mange to write about it in my diary. I was a senior in high school. September 11th is like Columbine in a way. Both events were tragic and I got the wrong info. In my time zone it happened early in the morning. At first I didn't know what was happening. My mom woke me up and told me what was going on. I thought she was joking or something. It was early and a long walk down the hall to the tv in the living room. I just turned on the radio in my room. It was hard to find the story. I ended up hearing an update on the Rick Dees show. I misheard the information and thought there were more planes headed to LA.
I got up to see what was on the tv. I couldn't stop watching it. It was addicting. I didn't know if there was school or not. When I called the attendance office I couldn't get anyone who spoke English. I went to school anyway.
When I got there I was asking around to see if anybody else knew what happened. My friend didn't know. When I went to school I was asking around about WWII and Pearl Harbor. I asked a few of my favorite former teachers if they knew what was going on. But everybody was too young to remember it. In first period we watched the news. Somebody in the class (not the teacher) insisted we watched Good Day LA. After first period I went to check on a different friend. In second period the teacher said she was aware what was going on, but we should work on our pots. (it was a ceramics class) In 3rd period we watched more footage. I procrastinated, so I needed to take my SATs soon. I was trying to fill out the form in class. Other people were telling me not to do it because all the planes were grounded and it would never make it to the place on time. This one guy in my class who was a conspiracy theorist said that America attacked itself. That guy was weird, and believed The Martix was real. He was a blowhard who had the answer for everything. I'm glad I don't see that guy anymore. I wonder why he was so popular? My French teacher didn't seem to care about it. At lunch I wasn't hungry, and I didn't feel like eating. I thought I should be nice to people. I was upset there wasn't a tv in my 6th period class. I asked the teacher what he thought about it, and how he'd rate it on a historical scale. I said I thought George W. was asking his dad for advice. Back then I use to confuse Gaddaffi with Bin Laden.
I wanted to watch Sailor Moon S on Kids' WB. I was sort of upset that I couldn't watch Sailor Moon. There was really nothing on, so I just watched old Saved by the Bell episodes. It was like the only thing on that wasn't coverage. It was the episode when Screech invents a pimple cream. I think I also watched some Sailor Moon videos.
Listening to the radio was strange. They were mostly playing Moby songs; like "Natural Blues". They said they weren't going to play songs like "Fuck Authority" by Pennywise. Loveline did a good job of covering it; like they did with Columbine.
Everything just felt dream-like.

Mundane Before the Terror
I saw an ABC news story looking back on September 10th 2001. It was about Michael Jackson's comeback concert. It was reported by Peter Jennings. Both of which are dead. We were concerned about what Gary Condit did or didn't do.
I used my best Sailor Moon stationary to write a letter to my dead friend who was alive at the time. She said her stationary was more conservative. I had bought the stationary many years ago. (I think in 8th grade) My dad convinced me to buy it at a Hot Topic store.
I should watch the old video I made recording the episodes for nostalgic purposes.
The episodes they showed were:
Crystal Clear Again
Damp Spirits
Hello Sailor Mini Moon
People Who Need People

Mimet's Mess
I was engrossed my first week of my senior year of high school. With people and their crazy hair styles. Liking and disliking who I had classes with. Struggling with math from the beginning. A computer class I didn't sign up for that my friend had, and we would joke around in. My frustration with ceramics class, and working with clay. I like to draw. People who recognized me, and I thought they didn't. I felt like the chansey in the Pokemon episode "Ignorance is Blissey". Feeling shy in my English class even though my friend was in the class.
I remember Blink-182 had a concert scheduled for the next day.
I was very happy that Sailor Moon was on Kids' WB. they were showing the Cloverway S series dub. The Cloverway Serena voice is so annoying. It was worse than the Dic voice.
Drawn on September 4th 2001.

Legality
It is funny that Shirley and I were sort of on the same wavelength.
Before I read her facebook note about how her conversation went about her work being "too noir".
I was thinking about when I was a freshman in college and I was more concerned with the school's culture than with the actual learning. I remember what my dead friend wrote me in a letter. I was thinking of quoting it directly, but since she is dead. I didn't want to get mixed up in the legality of it. To paraphrase it. She wanted to know if I was studying at college, and not just focused on music and fashion.
I have to admit now that was one of my downfalls. It's just when I go to a new school I don't know the culture; sometimes that can get me in trouble. I feel like Gus from Recess. :(

Enviro-“mental”
I had this strange dream about my parents my mom had the power to teleport she was bothering me while I was trying to cook leeks for soup or something. My dad was upset because his Buick got in an accident and was totaled. He was also upset because somebody offered to buy the broken car off him for $1.25.
I forgot it was Earth Day until I saw it mentioned on The Price is Right. I wrote a funny Earth Day tweet referencing a lyric from "What are we Gonna Do?". I wrote "Happy Earth Day send the message". Later when I was looking for a video on one of my tapes I found the video for the Dramarama song "What are we Gonna Do?" this was purely coincidental I was looking for a Moby video.
Back in 1999 my high school threw an Earth Day fair type thing. I remember part of the outfit I wore that day. I wore a blue jacket with a black faux fur collar and a pikachu shirt. It looks like the jacket Gwen is wearing in this picture. I was my first time wearing that pikachu shirt to school. The jacket was low cut, so the pikachu was prominently shown.
I spent most of my time with my friend and her boyfriend. The games were free. Most of the prizes given out were mostly junky fish shaped things. They reminded me of my pet fish. A few games were giving out erasers.
They were those ones that look like the world. The student government was making and giving out balloon animals. The problem was that they hadn’t practiced, and there were only 2 girls making them. When we got there it looked like they were just opening up a klutz book and a pack of balloons. About 1%-3% of the students at the fair got a balloon animal or hat.
The food was gross. The only food they were selling were overly greasy Rice Krispie treats and cucumber with chili powder on top. My friend bought some treats and they were so greasy we could barley hold on to them. They were sliding out of our hands, and they were wrapped.
I got bored with hanging out with my friend and her boyfriend. I was just a 3rd wheel. I decided to wander around on my own. I "ran into" my crush twice. Later I ran into my math tutor. There was a craft area and I tried to make some kind of pom pom animal with tacky craft glue, but it fell apart. I purposely ran into my crush, and told him that the ugly necklace he made was good. I wanted him to comment on my coat. There were also some sea animals that could be pet. I pet those. Then I wanted to play a game and the guy running it (a student) said let the Pokemon girl play. I thought this was hilarious.
In my class after the fair most of the people in the class were pelting each other with the erasers given as prizes. That class was composed of mostly hooligans, and the teacher had no control over the class.
When my math teacher saw a balloon dog somebody had. He said it was made wrong. He tired to fix it. He said somebody's balloon hat looked pornographic. (it sort of did)

Purple Tweed Dress
Today was hiring day at McDonald's my dad got mad at me for "hogging" the computer. I applied to about 10 restaurants, but all I got were automated replies.
Glee was funny! Mercedes being a diva asking for a bunch of crazy things. I did that once too. The only reason this was on my mind was because I was reading old diaries again to get ideas for my comic. What happened to me was a group of girls I went to school with about 4 wanted to start a singing group. They wanted me to join, but I thought it was a bad idea. Their style was going to be pop/R&B. I thought it was more sensible to start a ska or swing band. Mind you this was 1998. Here was my crazy demand; I wanted a purple tweed dress. (If anybody knows their No Doubt history would know why I wanted this) I assumed nobody would produce it, and they didn’t. I didn’t join the group. They said I could be the manager instead. I’m not sure exactly what I was managing. The group broke up quickly due to inner conflicts.
Brittany uses a novelty pen it can be seen in the scene where Holly is talking about history. It was funny when she knew a lot about cat diseases. Well she does think her cat reads her diary.
I noticed that the guy who plays Vocal Adeline’s coach isn’t in 30 Rock or at least I have not seen him in the show recently. Maybe since Thanksgiving.
What I don't get about the benefit concert was that not even New Directions' family came. That was pretty strange not even somebody's mom or bother or something. Besides Kurt.
I got a call for a job today, but I got it late in the day for tomorrow. I'm not going.

Keep the Group Intact Now
Today is the 25th anniversary of the Challenger disaster. I can't really remember it since I was 2 years and 18 days old. A lot of people get mad because I don't. Which is funny since this anniversary made me think of an assignment from my old memoir class where we had to write about a world event that happened at least 10 years ago and where we were. Back then it was only 9 years since September 11th and I couldn't think of anything. I ended up writing about the Gulf War. I mentioned it in a blog. (I was thinking about this before I checked my inbox and read the email)
I got the email. I knew it would happen! It was just "when" than "if". All it says is that class registration has started, and the class is filling up. She would like to see us there. I still hope some people dropped the fantasy of keeping that particular group intact. After I thought about it somebody moved to Las Vegas. They can start a new cult providing the popular guy comes back. I'm still up for that offer if somebody wants to pay to get me back in the group they are welcome to.
I'd really like to go back to school for the spring semester, but I don't want to dawdle in memoir, creative writing, or journal. I just took memoir to get a class. If I do go back in the spring I need to take core classes; the few I need. Like that could happen. I'd probably get some bad class because all the good ones are taken.
Why is the semester starting so late? I hate getting out in June. I feel like I'm still in primary school.

Burnt Ham
I watched H R Pufnstuf and Lidsville out of curiosity. Those shows are trippy. For the record I watched those shows completely sober.
I'm fretting again because I'll be turning 27 soon. I still want to find out the secret to looking and dressing mature. I think it involves having money to buy the grown up clothes and hair styles. If I do find the secret I'll post it here. It's good to share.
I want to try and be smart again; even if I think my intelligence does more bad than good. I'm thinking about picking up a copy of one of those Brain Age games.
I was thinking about something that happened 10 years ago. It was when I had to visit my grandma and it was New Years Eve 2000. I was really upset because I wanted to nap all day to stay up for New Years. It was boring and I played Pokémon. She made weird food; then she tricked my family into staying longer by cooking a ham for dinner. The thing was so badly burned it tasted like jerky. She got mad at me because I wanted to eat a pudding cup instead.

Maneki Neko/Reunion Yet?
I want a lucky charm for my phone. I'm thinking about getting a maneki neko or a beckoning cat.
I need all the help/luck I can get. Western stuff hasn't been working for me. (horseshoes, 4 leaf clover, and rabbit's foot) At first I was thinking a pig since pigs are lucky and that is my Chinese zodiac animal. Then I remembered pigs aren't so lucky to me.
Here is another blog I was planning on posting before the end of the year. Plus it ties in nicely into a pig zodiac reference.
Reunion Yet?
After thinking about that elementary school reunion in 2009 and that 2011 is nearing I thought somebody would have organized a reunion already; or at least made a page for it or something. Maybe I’m the one jumping the gun, and I don’t even want to go. Maybe somebody will set something up after the holidays. I have a strong feeling that the person who organized the elementary school reunion will organize this one. They are born under the sign of the pig, and pigs are good organizers. Check back for my end of the year thoughts blog and possibly a free day blog.

Things That Were Around in 1986
I caught myself watching a dubbed (in Portuguese) version of the Metal Hero series Kyojuu Tokusou Juspion. It was kind of funny/strange. Too bad the station it was shown on is kind of weak and sometimes I don't get good reception.
The house I use to live in from '86-'92 got knocked down. The whole lot of 3 did. I didn't see it; my mom did. The houses were there just last month. I wonder if the blackberry bush was still there? The funny thing is that back in my memoir class we had to write a story about the first house we lived in. The class also had to draw a picture/map of their old neighborhood and include it with the story. I couldn't remember what the lot looked like exactly, so I cheated and used Google maps.
I also found a picture online of a Toys R Us that looked like the one I lived across the street from. (Which is also not there anymore) I also cheated with that. I printed out a picture of the store, and affixed it to my drawing. Luckily we did not have to turn it in. It was poorly drawn and I was embarrassed by my work. I lived in a house prior to that from '84-'86, but I don't remember. The landlord had been saying he was going to knock down the houses since 1992. That's been 18 years. Back when I had a bad haircut. Wait I still do. I wonder if he still owns that property?

Happy Anniversary I’m Climbing Scaffolding!
Ok so I was going to write this anniversary, but there were a lot of problems. First of all my internet connection is acting really strange. So don't be alarmed if I go missing. Oh yeah I decided not to blog about what happened in class today even if there is a funny antidote that goes with it. I'll post it tomorrow or possibly in the leftovers blog.
I never finished the blog. A lot of stuff came up. This is how much of it I wrote. It's a really long story.
"Today is the 10 year anniversary of me going to my first No Doubt concert!
This is one of my 'retired stories'. I tell it too much.
It was a strange trip. It all started the week before when I was listening to the KROQ Music News. Do they still play those segments anymore? Anyway they said that if you bought a copy of 'Return of Saturn' at the Costa Mesa Virgin Megastore you could see a free No Doubt show. I reveled at the thought of this. I had been so desperate to see No Doubt for all those years.
At first I was trying to plot alone, but the excitement overcame me and I blabbed about it to my mom."
Well anyway here's the gist of it. So I convince my parents to let me go to the midnight CD release with my dad. I could go on one condition I had to keep up with school and not be grouchy due to lack of sleep. We waited like all night. We got home at like 3AM. I was suppose to be doing "important" things at school like being worried about standardized testing, and assignments and other boring stuff like that. I was being a "bad" student not caring about school. I usually care about too much anyway. It was nice to be bad and have a break. Anyway I studied really hard. I mean the "Return of Saturn" CD. I had like 2 days to learn it. One thing did happen. I found my new favorite No Doubt song; "Staring Problem".
Ok so on the night of the show I'm scared because I didn't know how I would react to seeing No Doubt in person. I thought I was either going to cry or throw up. Luckily neither of those happened. I was just really excited. I didn't really know what to wear so I wore one of my No Doubt shirts. I also wore my platform Skechers hoping I could get a better view of the band. The one thing that disappointed me was that Gwen looked shorter in person. Other than that it was a great show! They even played my favorite No Doubt song! "Staring Problem". Well I thought I requested it, but maybe they had a set list... Towards the end of the show Gwen climbed the scaffolding and was singing while holding onto it. Whenever I see Gwen climb scaffolding it makes me think about that show and makes me nostalgic. And of course I used that story as material for that story writing project I did in 10th grade.

This Entry is fill of Artificial Sweetener
Today is a very historic day in the No Doubt world today is the 10th anniversary of the release of No Doubt's 4th album “Return of Saturn”.
This album and I have a lot of history together. I was going to write a cute little story about it, but I didn't have time. (I'm still caught up on that volleyball game from neopets.) Maybe I'll post that story in a few days. Uh...let me just say that to date this is the only No Doubt album I purchased at midnight. But that goes along with the story. ^-^ Like I've said before I kept writing about them for 10th grade English class and drove my teacher crazy. True story!
Or the time I tired to purchase No Doubt tickets and ran into some Smashing Pumpkins fans and a misguided Lakers fan.
Speaking of neopets and "Return of Saturn" I use to run a "Return of Saturn" themed gallery on there for a few years until I realized nobody really got the theme of it, so I changed it.
Too bad I don't have pink hair now. Maybe I'll use some of that colored hairspray I have lying around. LOL! :P Maybe not.
Just to specify in my last blog "my ass" was referring to the really hard score neopets set the game at. This is not an "ass blog". Wait...that came out wrong. Or maybe it can be in Ass Möde like Ferguson says.

Just to specify in my last blog "my ass" was referring to the really hard score neopets set the game at. This is not an "ass blog". Wait...that came out wrong. Or maybe it can be in Ass Möde like Ferguson says.

Profit from Pain
It’s strange when it rains in April even if it is an El Nino year. It just throws me off. I feel like it’s December or January or something. The weather reminded me a little of when I went to the Ferguson taping. Then it made me think about writing that story for class. But I really want to write a No Doubt story since I haven’t written one yet. I don’t want it to be like 10th grade again where we had this class project to write a book about your life. The project was inspired by the book The House on Mango Street. I wrote a bunch of No Doubt stories, and my teacher got sick of reading them. It’s not like I was going to write about my siblings. You know I’ll be in my memoir class with all these Shirley stories and everybody’ll groan when I read another one. I'll try to limit it to just one Shirley story. The funny thing is that it is recommended that a person writes about their obsessions. I should really focus on 4th, 5th and 7th grade since those are periods I told myself I was going to write about. I mentioned 4th grade before. I guess I can keep writing memoirs after the class is over. Nobody says I have to stop. Plus my blogs the old myspace one and this one are chock full of memoir stories like the one I wrote about the roller rink.
Maybe I should write that story about writing about No Doubt too much for my memoir class. That'd be a fun read. Maybe I should nab something from this blog.
I had to listen to my rainy music. "Only Happy When it Rains". I wore my leather boot too. What do you know? I was hoping to see a rainbow, but I didn't. :(
I'm really getting this memoir I'm reading for class. It's the other assigned reading book. It's pretty dark. This is not the Mister Ed book I'm talking about. I'm reading 2 books at the same time. I really like that darker memoir better than that last one we had to read.
Which gave me the idea I should profit off the relationship with my dad. You know like writing a book, or making a movie, or a comedy album.
I accidentally hit some girl with my backpack today. I was weird she was just walking behind me at the bus stop. I swung it because I thought nobody was behind me. There was a lot of room for her to walk. The bus stop wasn't crowded at the time.
Cut another finger today by accident. The middle finger this time. So sorry if my typing is even worse. Both times I cut my finger while chopping meat. Maybe I should lay off the meat.

Bad Presents from Grandma
Ok first off I want to say that my blond obsessed grandma is notorious for giving bad gifts. This is not just because I’m older now. She’s been giving bad gifts since I can remember. It’s not just as I’ve gotten older she use to give bad gifts when I was a kid. The problem with me was that my birthday was too close to Christmas. I don’t really see how it is so close. Christmas falls on the 25th of December, and birthday is on January 10th. You know I have a cousin who has a birthday closer to Christmas than mine. Anyway she would give my 3 cousins who are close in age to me (including the on whose birthday is in December) all the same gift for Christmas, and I would get something else. When it was my birthday I would get an identical or nearly identical gift to the one my cousins received for Christmas. How do I know this? My mother also thought this was unfair and asked my grandma why she did it, and my grandma told her about my birthday being too close to Christmas. It’s not like I can change my birthday. I know it came from my mom, but I trust what she told me.
The dolls; did I write about the dolls? I forget sometimes I tell that story so much. Back when I was really little like 4. Anyway my 3 cousins who are close in age to me and I received dolls. I can remember if any other granddaughters received them besides the 4 of us. Anyway my cousin who I mentioned before got the best doll; a blond bride doll. My grandma tired to cover it up and “claim” they were all story book characters, and that her doll was Cinderella. Her older sister was mad; she received a Little Red Riding Hood doll. I got a “Goldilocks” doll that was a brunette! I’m not sure how that works. That’s who my grandma claimed she was. I’m not exactly sure who she was perhaps Little Miss Muffet? The funny thing is in the picture of us with the dolls the 3 of us look pissed off.
Ridiculously small clothes this gets its own 2 paragraphs. I just want to say that I did the research and looked through my paper writings; I could not find the year that I got the tiny red sweater. I’m going to go out on a limb and guess 2008 which would have been Christmas 2007. I don’t know the end of 2007 through the beginning of 2008 was kind of messy I was preoccupied with a deteriorating friendship. Anyway my parents come back with the presents. My mom tells me she got a sweater. When I open my present I got one too. The sweater was really small and smelled like perfume. It wasn’t my grandma’s perfume or even my mom’s. It was eventually donated.
Recently I received from her 2 ridiculously small shirts. When I opened the bag I took them out and I was disappointed and laughing; laughing to hide my disappointment. They were size 7 juniors. I haven’t worn a size 7 juniors top since I was in 6th grade. I show them to my dad who coincidentally got a shirt that was too large for him. I showed them how small they were. He said they were too small to fit my other cousins who are around my age. My dad tells me that the shirts look like they could fit a 10 year old. The worst thing was there were no tags on the shirts. SHE TOOK THEM OFF! I COULDN’T EVEN RETURN THEM IF I WANTED TO! I mean even if she got them on clearance or whatever I could have taken them back to the store for credit or something. She knows I’m not a size 7 and haven’t been for years. I was “porking out” the last time I visited her. I think is a ploy by her to find out how fat I’ve gotten, and to be honest I wouldn’t put it past her ‘cause she’s like that. These shirts will probably be donated too.
Let’s what were some of the better presents she gave… the faux garnet jewelry, a bracelet,
a back scrubbing sponge, my stuffed lion I named Van Go, a snowglobe, an Aladdin sweatshirt, a play cooking set. Um… that’s all I can think of off the top of my head.
I hate to quote Sally from a Charlie Brown but, “If it seems too complicated, make it easy on yourself: just send money. How about tens and twenties?” I wouldn't be stuck with ridiculously small clothes.

Free Day!
It's been a while since I had one. Not since last year. Ok ok lame joke right? I haven't had one since September. Not since my parents went to my grandma's house to get that junky Buick that belonged to my dad's dead uncle. Seriously I could write a long ranting blog about how junky that car is. But this is not the blog for that.
Since today is a free day I get a little excited because I don't know where to start or what to do. There are so many things. None of which involve chores or cleaning. I figure it's my time to "be lazy". I like being alone and having a house to myself. I like being alone; maybe that's an only child thing. It's fun to be a bachelorette for like a day.
Here are some of the things I did: sang "Why Do You Love Me" aloud, ate sweets for breakfast, decoupaged, watched Absolute Garbage, drank sweet strong tea, ate cheese, wrote in my diary, and trimmed my nails.
I invented a new sandwich a few days ago. It's a toasted cheese sandwich. Here's what you use. First you need some cheese spread. I used port wine flavor because that's what we had. First you toast the bread. Just used was what around, so I used plain white bread. Then I used the cheese spread instead of butter, margarine or cream cheese, and put the 2 pieces together. Maybe I should try one with aresol cheese.
I was thinking about working on my Halloween costume. It's never too early to plan, but then I thought I should start planning after my birthday. Perhaps if I start in January I will actually finish a costume. Something that I didn't hastily put together in 3 days.
I decided that I'd spurge in February and buy my self a little present. I do have something in mind. It's a secret until I buy it. ;)
For some reason I can't find any pictures online of the Sanrio character Roberta. She is a bear character. I had a picture of her, but I lost it when the hard drive broke.
I wanted to see how long it would be before I used the banned word. The "t-word". I was trying to think of a replacement word. First thought I could use the word "chirp", but then I remembered that is what the Boost Mobile phones do. Especilaly when ham eating pigs use them. It took me 2 days. 2 days! Damn! >:(
Since my dad went to my grandma's (his mom) visiting. I've written about her before. She is the one who conditioned my blond obsession. When he came back with the presents from her I was dreading what they were. She is notorious for giving bad gifts. This deserves it's own blog too. Well at least she didn't put her cat in a box a wrap it.
I was very disappointed by Cena's appearance at the Fiesta Bowl. I mean it was nice to see him and all. He got so little screen time. I was hoping they would interview him for the pregame show or something. I mean he has a football background. He could have even plugged Wrestlemania or something. He looked good though. He cleaned up well. He was dressed in a suit. I liked his tie. He looks so out of place in dressy clothes. I'm so use to seeing him in jean shorts and a t-shirt. I mean he's one of the few wrestlers who are exempt from the "suit rule"; The Undertaker is another one. The feed kept cutting off. My dad kept blaming it on Time Warner. I have no idea why; we get Fox OTA (over the air). He just has to complain about something he knows nothing about.
The funny thing was I had cheese at every meal. It was like that time I had bacon for every meal one day when we were in the process of moving.
Aside from the blog about the junky Buick and the blog about the horrible gifts my paternal grandmother gives. I have have material for a blog about those funnel cake sticks and a full review of that bear speaker pillow. Oh yeah and if you want to see some bad Mighty Morphin Power Rangers fan art or read some bad fan fics that I did between the ages of 9 though 11. I'll post them here if you want me to. Just leave me a comment.
