I was so flattered when Kiley asked me to write a post about baby showers in honor of her Pregnancy Party here at Cherry Blossom {The Blog}.
My name is Danielle and I am the owner and designer of Belleza e Luce.We specialize in custom created invitations as well as wedding and event planning. We also offer pre-designed invitations, announcements, and party accessories for all occasions.
Brand new to our shop are some lovely baby items that are wonderful for the baby shower you are planning or to announce the arrival of your new bundle of joy!
This lovely silhouette of a mom-to-be is probably one of my favorites. This invitation suite was originally created for a modern mama-to-be who loves all things purple!
With a new baby comes lots of laundry! This simple birth announcement features a clothesline filled with adorable onesies, bibs, and hats. The center article features the child’s initial and is available in pink/purple, pastels, and blue/green.
Baby showers have become quite elaborate affairs.Much more, the showers are themed to the interests and style of the soon-to-be mom in a celebration to her.Centerpieces, linens, and coordinating paper items tie everything from invitations to food to favors all together.
I thought it would be fun to create a small inspiration board in honor of Kiley and her baby boy.Since it is her second child, I choose the concept ‘A New Addition to the Nest.’

Consider creating a signature mocktail for your shower centered around the color or theme of the event.Based on the inspiration board, I chose the Blue Hawaiian for a mocktail – for its blue color.
Blue Hawaiian Recipe:
5 oz blue typhoon Hawaiian punch
1 oz coconut milk
1 oz pineapple juice
1 oz ginger ale
shake with ice and strain into martini glass rimmed with blue sugar
A personal favorite of mine is asking each guest to bring a book for baby’s library in lieu of a card or as the wishing well. When the guests arrive at the shower, offer them a custom bookplate to sign and place inside the book.Perhaps display all the books on a bookshelf for the baby’s nursery.
Even if you and your party guests are not into typical baby shower games, a fun ice breaker is ‘Guess Baby’s Birthday.Ask guests to fill out a card with their guess of the baby’s birthdate, weight and length. They can pin their guesses to a large calendar. It is fun to see what everyone writes down and provides a conversation piece for people who may not know each other.
The most important piece of advice I can offer is to keep the baby shower suited to the taste of the guest of honor.Don’t plan an urban chic affair at an uptown loft if she prefers vintage retro style.A creative concept whether it be in color, motif, or theme is sure and carried through with the small details will make a lasting impression on the guests and wonderful, unforgettable memories for the mom-to-be.
