Thank you!
After I read this statement from the Baby Bond website;
"Baby Bond Covers Mom. NOT her Baby. Privacy without isolation. After all, dining is social."
I had to know more...
A Bit about Baby Bond
The designer behind Baby Bond, Missy learned as a Speech-Language Pathologist that preverbal skills, eye contact, and attention are vital to cognitive and language development. However, it wasn’t until she became a mother that she fully understood and lived these truths. Missy believes every experience is a learning experience and that breastfeeding offers infinite opportunity to interact and communicate with your baby.
Missys determination to incorporate breastfeeding into her lifestyle meant nursing in public everywhere. It also taught her a lot about herself. She discovered that refusing to cover her baby’s head while nursing did not leave many options. She did not feel attractive when she lifted her shirt to nurse because she found herself slouching forward and it revealed her postnatal stomach and back. She also felt that by exposing her breasts, the intimacy shared between she and her husband was somehow compromised… She wanted to keep some things just for them as a couple.
After having four babies, Missys closet was full of nursing tops that were not flattering and quite pricey. In December, 2006 during a 2 am feeding, she envisioned a nursing accessory that would cover mom but not her baby. The next morning, Missy cut and sewed one of her husband’s t-shirts into the prototype for the Slurp & Burp®. Since then, she has designed three product lines to meet the needs of a variety of nursing moms and babies. Slurp & Burp has since rebranded to BabyBond™, a name that highlights the primary benefit of Missys products.
My Review
I was sent the Baby Bond Flex nursing cover to review. Now, keep in mind that while I am not nursing a newborn right now I did nurse my daughter for a year and so I am reviewing the Baby Bond with my prior nursing experience. The Baby Bond Flex is definitely a product I wish I had with my first born...I am a firm believer in nursing your baby {if you can do so}. I often found when nursing my daughter that I couldn't tell if she was latched on correctly because I had a nursing cover slung over her...plus it left her in the dark and I couldn't interact with her. The Baby Bond Flex lets you interact with your baby and see how she/he is latched on all while keeping yourself covered. I honestly would feel very comfortable using the Baby Bond and I plan to do so with my new little Baby in January! The Baby Bond Flex is worn like a sash {remember Girl Scouts?}...which allows you to nurse from the top of your shirt-this keeps your stomach and back covered with your own shirt. The Baby Bond Flex also includes a 9 x 12″ double layer terry velour burp cloth, which you can wear attached to the Baby Bond or unattached.
I love my Baby Bond and highly recommend it to all nursing moms...let your baby see you and bond!
The company did send me a product or service for review. This in no way has affected my opinion of the product or service. This review is my opinion and has been written in my own words.
