Like many make up enthusiasts my eyeshadow collection is pretty vast, yet I find myself reaching for the same few colours over and over. I keep all of my eyeshadows in a MAC palette for ease of use, but when I went to London I put my four favourites in a quad, and they've stayed in there ever since. If I want a quick look, I reach for this quad. If I want a natural look with a bit of oomph and definition, I reach for this quad. If I want to look like me but prettier, I reach for this quad. You can see how much I use these colours as I've hit pan on every single one!
All MAC, clockwise from top left:
Blanc Type - A matte cream
Retrospeck - A shimmery pale gold
All That Glitters - A pinky beige with gold shimmer
Patina - A taupey brown with gold shimmer
Some rubbish swatches:
I love wearing All That Glitters on the lid. It's very neutral and natural on my skintone, so it just adds a pretty shimmer to my lids. Patina is a lovely colour in the crease. It's a nice soft brown but it adds just enough definition for an everyday look. A lot of people don't like Retrospeck. They find it too crumbly and chunky, almost glittery, but I love it. I wear it underneath my lower lashline, and I find it mimics the brightening effects of using a white liner on the waterline, but is a lot less harsh. Because of it's texture, it reflects the light, so my eyes look bigger too. I like to use Blanc Type as a highlight because it balances out the other shimmery colours. It's one of the few matte's I can work with and is gorgeous on paler skintones like mine.
What colours are/would be in your everyday quad?
xoxo
