Five good things

Hiya everyone, hope you are well and had a good weekend :)

Tomorrow will be a year since my Grampa passed away. It's been a really weird year and I still can't believe he's not here. Whenever we used to visit we'd say goodbye, then as I got to the bottom of the garden and just about to close the gate behind me, he'd call me back. I'd run all the way back in just for him to say goodbye again, and I fell for it everytime. I just keep hearing his voice calling me everytime I leave the house now, but I know he's not there. It feels so empty and quiet without him there. My Gran is still in shock and is missing him tremendously, and it kills us that nothing we can say or do will make her feel better. Her heart is broken. How do you fix that? This seems like a perfect time to concentrate on some good things in life right now, so I'll share my five good things with you :)

1. I had a great weekend. It was my Mother-In-Law's birthday on Saturday so we went to visit her and had a nice little catch up with Mr Lollipop's family. We don't live near them, it's about an hours drive away so it was nice to see everyone and things. My nephew has just learned how to ride his bike without stabilizers so we spent some of the afternoon in the park watching him show off, and it was an opportunity to give my neice an outing in her Toy Story 3 Aliens outfit! So cute. It was also an excuse for birthday cake. Nom!

2. I had two cinema dates with Mr Lollipop over the weekend. We saw Eclipse on Saturday evening and Toy Story 3 yesterday, both of which I thoroughly enjoyed. I'm Team Jacob now and Spanish Buzz just cracks me up! With us sharing a house with my parents, it's really hard to get some time to ourselves so it's been fab going on little dates this weekend.

3. My healthy eating is back on track, and I feel great for it. I'm thinking about what I'm eating and whether I'm really hungry now, instead of shovelling something in my mouth because I was bored. I'm making better food choices now and am slightly addicted to frozen bananas. They're absolutely scrumptious!

4. I've got enough empties for 2 Back2MAC's. Woohoo! Very materialistic but I've got my eye on quite a few lipsticks, and you can't beat a freebie or two, can you!

5. It's payday today - what more can I say?!

Five good things

It seems like a long time ago since I did one of these posts, so I thought it was about time for another one! I'm in such a good mood today, which is strange considering how uneventful and boring my weekend was. I worked on Saturday when we had glorious sunshine, and yesterday, when I was off, it rained all day! Bloody June my ass...

1. After Wednesday's shift I am off for almost two weeks. Yay!

2. We are going to visit our dream wedding venue on Thursday. I'm so super duper excited about it! If it's as fabulous in person as pictures online, we'll actually be setting a date for our wedding. Woo!! I get butterflies just thinking about it.

3. It is Mr Lollipop's birthday on Sunday and he is the big 30...

4. ...so we are off to London for a few days next week to celebrate. You all know how much I love me some London action!

5. I think I'm starting to like my hair change. It was such a shock at first, to me and people I know, but now I've had chance to wash it a few times and have a play around, I think I quite like it. I've no doubt that I'll return blonde eventually, but for now, it's a refreshing change.

Hope you've all got five good things or more this week! :)

Five good things

Hello my lovelies, hope you've all had a good weekend. I am not a big fan of Monday's, so thank goodness this one is over and done with! Onto my five good things:

1. I have a short working week this week and next week because of the two Easter bank holidays. What's not to love about that?! Mr Lollipop has a long weekend off too, which very rarely happens around bank holiday time as he normally gets the shitty shifts. I'm really looking forward to spending a few days with him :)

2. My healthy eating plan is going really well. It's still early days (as in, a week) but I have zero willpower and normally give up by now. Thank you to everyone who has commented on my last post or tweeted me some support and encouragement. It really means a lot and is definitely inspiring me. Thank you!

3. I went for a jog on Saturday morning and Sunday morning. I went with my lovely Mammy and we jogged about 1.5 - 2 miles along the beach then jogged back. I use the term 'jogged' very loosely, as it was kind of a plod, trot, skip, stop for a breather, walk, hop, jump, plod, gasp for breath... you get the picture! I was absolutely knackered coming back but I felt so proud of myself. It was also quite invigorating to go to the beach in the fresh, early mornings, and to hear nothing except the waves crashing and the birds tweeting. It was just so peaceful, and despite being too hot and sweating like an absolute pig, I felt good. Very serene and calming. My legs were aching like a bitch this morning, but in my opinion, it's worth it.

4. I finally managed to get some of my NVQ work done over the weekend. I was starting to get a knotted feeling in the pit of my stomach because I just kept delaying it and delaying it, but yay, I've almost finished this module.

5. Mr Lollipop applied for a new job a few weeks ago. Well, it's a promotion from Assistant Manager in his current store to a Manager in a store closer to home, rather than a brand new job, and his Area Manager has 'unofficially' said that it is looking really positive for him. Fingers crossed he gets it, as it would mean I get to spend more time with him (he currently spends 2 hours a day travelling, bless him) and of course, more money!

What are your good things?

Five good things

I found it really hard to find five good things today, which makes me sad :( I'm still poorly sick but I am getting better... albeit very slowly but still...

Thank you for the lovely get well soon messages on yesterday's post. That's so kind of you xx

Anyway, onto my five things. I've been a bit picture happy with this post because pictures make me happy! :)

1. Ant & Dec are back on our TV screens. I'm a little bit in love with Dec, Ant, Dec, Ant... no definitely Dec... actually, I wouldn't say no to either. They're so cute and cheeky, and their new show is the typical silly fun I've come to expect from the lovely lads.

2. Sticking with the TV theme, True Blood is back too - Fridays at 10pm on FX - woo!

3. We have our hotel and train tickets booked for our trip to London in a few weeks. I'd be super excited if I had the energy haha. I've never been before so I'm really looking forward to it! Any recomendations of where to go, what to see or do?

4. The car passed it's MOT on Friday. We were expecting it to need new brakes, or at the very least new tyres, so for it to come back with nothing wrong is great news. The money would have gone to some new MAC for me, but it's going towards our London fund instead.

5. Only a few more days til Lady Gaga's MAC lipstick hits UK shores! Hooray! This is a completely different colour to the normal Viva Glam shades, and all proceeds go to a great cause. I can't wait to get mine :)

Hope you've all got lots of good things :)

Five good things

1. I've been woken up by sunshine and not rain/snow/sleet/hailstones for 3 days in a row. Bliss :)

2. Project Bathroom. I started it on Thursday and have finished 4 items already. Woo!

3. It's my lovely Granny's 78th birthday on Thursday, and we're going to go out for lunch to her favourite restaurant. I love my Gran dearly, and she looks bloomin' fantastic for her age. People are always asking me if I'm her granddaughter, and when I say yes they start telling me how lovely she is, how she's a glamourous Granny, and how they want to look as good as she does when they are her age. Fingers crossed I've inherited her genes!

4. I re-pierced my ears about a fortnight ago, by pushing some earrings through the semi-closed up holes that I already had. The pain has finally gone and I can wear my super-pretty earrings again instead of boring plain gold ones.

5. It's payday on Friday. Enough said!

Hope you've all got five good things this week! :)

Five good things

I love these posts. My five good things of this week:

1.  Being able to wear these on the weekend:

instead of these:

2.  Having new workout clothes. Not the most exciting of purchases (except my new Converse... not practical for workout but I've wanted them for ages - good thing it's payday tomorrow so I can buy a proper pair of workout shoes!) but it means I'm feeling comfortable and motivated now :)

3.  My skin clearing up after a bad reaction to the Vichy face cream. I credit lots of water and Bio-Oil for making it look somewhat decent now. I also have to mention that I haven't worn undereye concealer for the last two days, and you can't even tell. I think that's another thing drinking water is good for :)

4.  I have been engaged to Mr Lollipop for 7 years, and we are finally discussing weddings! Wooooooooo!! We're looking at getting married in 2012 - probably November because we want a cosy winter wedding. I won't be officially excited until we have a venue booked, but to even be discussing it is a huge step in the right direction for us. As my Mam would say - there's more go in a bottle of pop! We'd have done it a lot sooner but life just got in the way.

5.  Mr Lollipop's family are visiting this weekend with our 2 nephews and baby niece. We haven't seen them since Christmas so we're looking forward to it.

Hope you've all got 5 good things!

xoxo

Five good things

I haven't done one of these for a while. According to my local radio station, today is the most depressing day of the year, and I have to admit I've been a grumpy little so-and-so all day! But then, this is the same radio station that says blondes are more aggressive than redheads and brunettes. Hmmph, what do they know? I'll smash their faces in if I find out who came up with that idea... ;)

Anyhoo, my five good things:

1.  My resolutions are going well. I've been drinking at least 1.5 litres of water everyday, haven't had a single drop of Diet Coke since New Year, and I'm wearing more colours make-up wise. The others are not going so good, but this is a five GOOD things post, so I'll ignore those, haha!

2.  We hit our targets in work which means bonus at the end of the month - Whoop!

3.  America's Next Top Model starts again tonight. 9pm on Living <3

4.  No snow. This is the view I had from the top floor window on Sunday morning. A beautiful sunny day with our neighbours on jetski's in the sea. I get jealous whenever I see them out there, which is every single day in the summer. I will befriend them one day and borrow one of their jetski's haha.

5.  I got called beautiful this morning, by someone other than Mr Lollipop. That alone made my day!

Hope you all have had a good Monday. That's the worst bit of the week over with at least!!

xoxo

Five good things

I really enjoy reading these posts, and I have to admit, focusing on the good things really does make you feel better and more positive! Here are my 5 good things of this week!

1. My payrise. I had a little letter today to confirm my payrise. It's only a little one, but more money is never something to be knocked! Plus, they're backdating it to October so I'll have 2 months worth of more money this month - woohoo!
2. I have next week off. I wasn't sure if I should have included this in this week's good things, but I'm really looking forward to it.
3. I no longer have my own make up room. That doesn't sound like a good thing, but it is! We needed a spare bedroom so all my make up and clothes are back with me in our bedroom, and it's lovely to have all my stuff in one place again.
4. I'm getting sleep! I wake constantly through the night, whether it's needing the loo, too hot, too cold, my pillows not fluffy enough blah blah blah, but for the last week or so I've slept all night every night. Bliss.
5. I'm a Celebrity... The new series started on Sunday, and for once I had heard of everyone going in! I'm not too sure I'll watch as much now Jordan is in there, as she gets on my pips a bit, but it means I get a nightly fix of the lovely Declan Donnelly - that's definitely a good thing!! I love Ant and Dec :)

Hope you've got lots of good things xx

Five good things

Evening all. I haven't been blogging as much as I'd like to recently, mainly because of my lack of camera. It's either been loaned out, had dead batteries or has been misplaced, but good news - it's back, it's charged, and it's found!
I've seen this on a few blogs tonight and thought it was such a cute and positive idea that I had to take part. Basically, no matter what's gone wrong during your day, or whatever has made you feel miserable, you pick five good things in your life right now :) Cute right? Okay...

1. Only 11 days until New Moon. Is it a bit sad that I'm counting down? Definitely, but I don't care! I really love the Twilight books (well not so much the last one) and although the movie doesn't quite live up to it, it's enjoyable all the same. Not that that's anything to do with a certain Mr. Pattinson... Oh nooooo, certainly not...
2. Tumblr. Hello, my name is Laura and I'm a Tumblrholic. There, admitting you have a problem is the first step, right? I can't help it - there are so many gorgeous pictures on there that have really inspired me. Looking for some fashion ideas? Check Tumblr. Want to redecorate your bedroom? Check Tumblr. Want a new hairstyle? Check Tumblr!
3. My fiance. I love him to teeny tiny bits, but now and again a routine sets in, and we sometimes forget the little things. I got woken up with a little cuddle instead of an alarm clock this morning, and he put my jimjams on the radiator to warm for me whilst I was in the shower last night. It's the little things :)
4. Using up things. I'm on somewhat of a spending ban until all of the Christmas presents are bought, which I hate because I constantly want, but I love the fact it's giving me the chance to use up my stash. I've rediscovered some favourites!
5. Clearer skin. And it's all down to water. I've been drinking more and I'm pleased to be seeing results other than weeing a lot!
And here's a cute picture for you:

We've all got five good things, so come and share yours! xx
