I've had an awful few weeks. As you may know from my last few posts, it was my Grampa's funeral on Tuesday. It was so emotional but absolutely beautiful. There couldn't have been a more perfect way to say goodbye. The room was absolutely jam packed, with people standing at the back and down the sides. My auntie said that she heard people had to stand outside too! To have that many people know him, like him, and show up really humbles me. People had written letters recalling things they had done together, or pranks he had pulled on them. That's my Grampa, always the joker. It was his mission to make people smile, and even on the day of the funeral we were laughing at him and his stories. I'm going to miss him like hell, but I'm happy that he's no longer suffering, and I'm extremely proud of my Granny and the way she has coped with it all.
So, as if dealing with that wasn't difficult enough, I've had stressful time in work. We had the Director's due to visit so have been preparing for that. There's been an awful atmosphere there and we've all been falling out. Add to that the workload and studying of my course - it just made me melt. I don't do 'under pressure' very well, let alone under pressure and grieving.
I came home from work yesterday and all I wanted to do was go to bed and not wake up until Monday morning. My fiance came in not too long after me, with a present. For me!
It looked so beautiful, with pink shimmery paper and a silver bow on top. Okay, so it was held together with mounds of sellotape, but I can overlook that ;) I sadly didn't take a picture of it, as I just ripped it open in excitement. What did I get?
Didn't he do well?! I got:
- Lush Oatifix fresh face mask
- Lush Ocean Salt face scrub
- Lush Vanilla Dee-Lite body lotion
- Lush Honey Bee bath ballistic (not pictured because I used it last night)
- Lush Mange Too massage bar (I cut it up to make it fit into a tin!)
- MAC Smoke and Diamonds eyeshadow
- And a beautiful bunch of flowers!
He says I deserve some pampering. He's the best!
He went to MAC and asked the MUA for "a starfish eyeshadow called Diamonds, that was released last year"! Bless him. I guess he does pay some attention when I'm whittering on about make up. I missed out on this last year and have regretted it ever since. I have been scouring eBay and the like with no luck. When I found out it was being repromoted, I was so excited and it's all I've jabbered on about!
I love the look of most of the eyeshadow colours from this collection to be honest, but I need to save money for next month's Makeup Arts Costmetics collection. That's going to break the bank for me, I want everything!
He obviously knows my favourite products and scents from Lush too! I use Ocean Salt and Vanilla Dee-Lite regularly, and I love honey and chocolatey scented Lush products. I've been dying to try Oatifix since it was released, so look out for a review of that soon!
So, as you can imagine I was a blubbering mess last night. Thanks G, I love you! x
