What I ate Wednesday

Having a weekly feature really makes me notice how quickly these weeks are rolling around. It's frightening! What's worse is we had a company newsletter in work the other day and they're already counting down to Christmas - we haven't even have a proper Summer yet!

Have you joined the WIAW party?! Hop on over to Jenn's lovely little blog for more participants :)

BREAKFAST - 6:30am

I woke up hungry, but nothing I thought of sounded appetising. I spent so long deliberating over what to have that I actually didn't leave myself a lot of time, so I settled for my usual mix of porridge, made with cinnamon and a grated apple, and topped with some mixed nuts (I think it was peanuts, almonds and... walnuts maybe?) and blueberries. Because it wasn't what I was craving (I still don't know what I wanted) I didn't enjoy it, but ate it for the sake of it. It was a lovely combination though, so no doubt I'll be returning to this when I'm in a fruit 'n' nut mood.

LUNCH - 1:00pm

I took a box full of raw vegetables to work today, as I knew there were some dips in the fridge that needed to be eaten. I took cucumber, carrots, mange tout, a yellow pepper, and a couple of cherry tomatoes, and had some lemon houmous for dippage. Mmmm. I also had a pot of Activia Fat-Free Vanilla Yoghurt and two small (unpictured) plums, which filled me up for the afternoon. I did get peckish at around 5:30pm, but I didn't have anything as I was finishing work at 6:00pm and going straight home.

TEA - 6:15pm

Tonight I wanted something a bit stodgy, as the weather resembles Autumn. I had a bowl of couscous, topped with some of my chunky vegetable chilli, which was very yummy, very filling, and exactly what I wanted to warm me up. For my dessert I had a strawberry ice cream-slash-smoothie, which was just some frozen bananas and frozen strawberries, blended with a little soy milk until I got the consistency of ice cream. This was so delicious and I felt like I was having a really naughty treat. You know those luxury ice creams that are made with real strawberries instead of artificial strawberry flavourings? This tasted just like one of those. Mmmm.

DRINKS

Today I had 1.5 litres of water, so not my 2 litre target but near enough. We're kind of keeping tabs on each other in work and checking how much water we're drinking, so it is a good reminder to hydrate myself! I also had my first bottle of 'Vitamin Water' today. I chose the i-focus Strawberry and Kiwi flavour, not entirely because it is pink. Well... maybe just a little! The first sip was quite nice but by the end it wasn't as nice as I thought. Plus it is just full of sugar! I bought into the vitamin aspect of it and regretted it. I won't be buying anymore. I'm having a cup of Clipper Night-Time Tea tonight too, which is becoming somewhat of a nightly ritual now. It's my favourite, and if it didn't help me sleep I'd drink it throughout the day too!

Notice something different about today's meals?
What have you eaten today?

xoxo
