Did you know that July has been deemed ' UV awareness month' by the American Cancer Society. It is important to protect yourself from UVA {known to cause leathering, wrinkling, age spots, etc to skin} and UVB rays {known to cause skin cancer, sun burns, cataracts, and immune system damage}. The ozone layer filters out many UVB rays, but the rays that are not filtered out can cause damage to you and your skin. Skin damage from the sun is unfortunately irreversible-even if you don't get burned by the sun, all skin types are susceptible to UV-damage.
My sister is a skin cancer survivor so I am a big believer in using sunscreen, and products that contain SPF. I saw what my sister went through while battling skin cancer {she lost the heel of her foot} and it is not something I would recommend to anyone. As I have stated previously on this blog I love using sunless tanners because they give me a great tan without the harmful rays of the sun.
