What I ate... the other day

Hello cupcakes :)
Today's WIAW post isn't for my munchies for today. I have been ill with food poisoning for the last 2 days so all that I've 'eaten' since Monday evening has been water, water and more water.

Fun times.

Instead, I'm showing you my eats from Monday, before I got ill. If you want to join the WIAW party, check out Jenn's blog for the deets:

BREAKFAST - 6:15am

I made my usual mix of porridge (1/3 cup oats, 1/3 cup milk and 1/3 cup water) and added some cinnamon for some yumminess. I topped it with some Dorset Cereals Honey Granola (soooo good!) and pecans. As much as I enjoyed this, the porridge was still a little bit too plain for my tastes, so next time I think I'll add a mashed or melted banana to my mixture.

SNACK - 10:30am

I had a choconana smoothie, and yes, that's a Superman glass! It's Mr Lollipop's. To make my smoothie I blended a banana with some Alpro Chocolate Soy Milk and a teaspoon (quite a heaped teaspoon... oops!) of crunchy peanut butter. Thick, creamy, chocolatey and really delicious. I couldn't even tell it was soy milk instead of my regular milk!

LUNCH - 1:30pm

This innocent and delicious looking salad gave me food poisoning. It was made up of lettuce, cucumber, spring onion, red pepper, radish, grated carrot, a little bit of grated cheese, some cooked beetroot, some pickled onions, some cherry tomatoes and a teaspoon of coleslaw. Nothing offensive there. Oh, and salmon. Sigh. That's what did it. Tasted fine, smelt fine, but it was not fine and I don't think I'm going to eat salmon again after this. I thoroughly enjoyed every single mouthful so I can't understand why I had such a bad reaction to it - I've ate salmon a ton of times before! Damn salmon.

And that's all of my eats for Monday because I got violently sick by teatime so I came home from work early, had a long hot bath and tucked myself up in bed, then got looked after by my Mammy. Mammy's are the best when it comes to TLC. I'm feeling extra sorry for myself as I haven't been able to sample some of my brother's giant cupcake birthday cake either. By the time my appetite comes back there won't be a crumb of it left on the plate. Hmmph! Stupid salmon.

Is there anything you can't eat? Anything you've been put off by because of one bad experience? My mother thinks I'm crazy to be put off something (it's the same with beef, I avoid beef these days as I was sick last year after eating it) but I just conjure up these horrible feelings when I think about eating it. That's normal, right?

xoxo
