Heather Lehmann Nursing Wear Review

When it comes to finding attractive and flattering nursing clothing there is not much of a selection. While browsing Zulily I came across Heather Lehmann. Heather Lehmann creates nursing garments unlike any other I have seen before. Her clothing is wearable, functional, and stylish.


A bit about Heather Lehmann
Heather Lehmann Nursing Wear was created in 2007 on the day Heather had a formal event to go that was hosted by her husband’s new firm. Heather and her husband were new in town – they moved when Heather was nearly 7 months pregnant with their first – and they had not known anyone long enough to trust them with their baby. So, Heather and her husband decided to take their 7 month old with them and Heather needed to find formal attire that allowed her breast access. She unfortunately found that formal nursing attire just wasn't out there!!! So she decided to buy a corset thinking that she could just pop out of the top and feed her daughter with some kind of cover over the two of them. However, Heather forgot about the boning in the corset itself, which disallowed for any movement in the garment. Heather was stuck and forced to go to the bathroom and disrobe from the waist up to feed her child on a toilet.

Heather was frustrated and began discussing her dilemma with other nursing mothers. The same story kept coming up – and some worse than mine! Heather had already thought up more than a dozen designs in her head at this point and knew there was a better way to look good and still be able to nurse.

In late 2009, when her second child was about 9 months old Heather began writing her business plan and searching for a specialist in pattern making and sample production to develop her sketches into three dimensional garments.
By the end of September 2010, Heather secured placement in a showroom and then launched her website which was the final ingredient to a full blown business.

My Review

  I was sent a Jane Dress to review from Heather Lehmann. Ladies, I have to tell you that this is probably my favorite nursing dress that I own. It is comfortable, roomy, and stylish! The Jane Dress is made of 100% cotton so it breathes beautifully and is perfect for any season {just pair the dress with tights in the fall/winter months and you are good to go!}. The quality of the dress is perfect-so well made! My favorite feature has to be the horizontal conceal-reveal openings-they make nursing super easy and convenient no matter where I am!  The Jane Dress is very versatile and can be dressed up or dressed down and can also be worn a number of ways...with a belt around the waist, a ribbon, or just on its own. I also adore the pockets on the dress-every mother knows that you can never have enough places to store things! If you are a nursing Mother yourself or you know of someone who is I highly recommend visiting Heather Lehmann. Her designs make you feel beautiful, confident, and proud that you can still look good and nurse at the same time!
