It's May 1st, which means that's another month done and dusted. Phew! How was your April? Mine was filled with time off and weddings - attending my sister-in-law's, attempting to plan my own, and of course, the Royal Wedding. Can't fault it! Here's what I learned along the way.
1. I'm not ladylike enough to wear a dress.
2. Nor am I ladylike enough for tights.
3. The sun is bleaching my hair.
4. Which I am excited about, as long as it doesn't turn me grey!
5. Tiaras do not suit me.
6. But they do add instant glam to my rather drab work uniform.
7. And wearing a tiara in work (because you've forgotten it's on your head) will earn you odd looks.
8. Not enough people think about personal hygiene in the sunshine. Smelly pits alert - bleurgh.
9. Some people think that sunshine means you have to leave the house semi-nude. Men - unless you are ripped or old enough to be drooled over, leave your t-shirts on. Ladies - I don't want your boobs and belly shoved in my face; a bikini on the beach is acceptable, wearing next to nothing in Morrisons is not.
10. My dream wedding venue isn't my dream wedding venue anymore.
11. I've given up finding my dream venue as finding somewhere even 'suitable' is frustrating. Looks like we'll just have to pick somewhere sensible and practical, aka dull.
12. There is nothing more annoying than being on the loo, dropping the loo roll, then unravelling it further as you try and grab it. Nothing.
13. My tax code has changed, resulting in a little more pay - hooray!
14. Some people don't really help themselves when it comes to bad situations.
15. Stugeron are the best travel sickness tablets ever! Though they made me very, very drowsy.
16. We can do anything we set our minds at, we just need to work for it. Even if it means the work is hard. Because...
17. Love Audrey is amazing! She is a massive inspiration to me. Franky has two small children, a job, is studying at uni for her Masters and is planning a (wonderful judging by her plans and ideas) wedding! And I had the cheek to complain about completing my miniscule-in-comparison NVQ! For shame on me.
18. Michael Sheen is a fabulous man and actor.
19. And his dad worked (not sure if he still does) as a Jack Nicholson lookalike!
20. Mr Lollipop and his brother look handsome in kilts. They're both pretty much jeans and t-shirts guys, so they scrubbed up well at a recent wedding!
21. Speaking of which, Gretna Green is a beautiful little place to get married, and not in the slightest bit tacky as I'd always thought.
22. Rachel's Greek-Style Coconut Yoghurt is a gorgeous, lower fat alternative to cream, so perfect for the warmer weather when you want to indulge in a bowl of strawberries and cream!
23. Hearing children laughing makes me happy and giggly.
24. I have call waiting on my phone.
25. I have a new found love for the Royal Family. It's all because of Catherine and William's gorgeous, gorgeous wedding. Me and my Granny sat in our PJ's and dressing gowns, watching with a cuppa. We oohed and aahed over Kate and her gorgeous gown, gasped at the incredibly stunning sight of Pippa, her bridesmaid, and chuckled away at some of the ludicrous hats. Such a fabulous day. Now all I need to learn is how to make Harry my prince ;)
26. My Mammy would quite like Prince Harry as a son-in-law because "He seems like a hoot!". Well, I couldn't agree more!
27. My cousin doesn't know that photographers are not called photographists. And she's 31 this year. D'oh!
28. There are some absolute bitches on Twitter. I'm due a cull soon - honestly, some of what I read shocks me.
29. Somebody is going to die in Glee! I don't know who, but I'm surprised at how gutted I am hearing this news, because less than 2 months ago I hated the show lol.
30. Ken and Dierdre in Coronation Street are taking clay modelling classes. I can only hope for the sake of my stomach that they do not try and recreate the scene from Ghost. Please God, no.
Did you learn anything new this month?
xoxo
