Steven Tan new coin book will be coming out soon to your nearest coin dealer shop. I had been calling them for almost two month and their answer almost the same, the new book will be out next week. They have some problem with their printer and their book mock up. I think everyone is having the same sets of question and answer about it, if any of you try to called their shop. Today, they confirm to me that the book already available for pick up at their shop. The price will be RM78 a piece. I heard that this will be last catalogue book publish by International Stamp & Coin with Steven Tan name on it. is that true?
To anyone who doesn't know what I am talking about, you may read my earlier post on Steven Tan; Where is Steven Tan coin shop? Are you ready for the price increase of Malaysia, Straits Settlements, Malaya, British Borneo or Sarawak coin and banknote? I am not depending to much on this catalogue book because for me it is just a guide. Not something that you need to follow 100%. The market price most probably a little bit different from what we can see in the book. Some item already a scarce item in the market but the price in that book still cheaper then it suppose to.
This book will bring joy to coins and banknotes dealer because they have a reason to increase their price. But as a buyer, are you ready for the price increase? You cannot stop people from increasing their price but you can stop buying. Stop buying most probably mean you don't have that item in your collection. Its very hard to find some collection right now, if you like it, try bargain a price and if the price is right, buy it. Another way to prepare for the price increase is by buying the new book, it will help you aware how much the price should be. You can called International Stamp & Coin and asked on how to buy that book or you can go straight to their shop at Pertama Complex.
My advice to all Malaysian Collector; get ready, new price is coming.
