Corinne, Corinna - Mum's Favourite Song, Carole King, Burt Bacharach And Corinne May

CORINNE MAY was named after her mother's favourite song, Corinne, Corinna. It is a country blues song and was first recorded by Bo Chatmon and the Mississippi Sheiks but was not copyrighted until 1932. But according to Yahoo Answers, "the song definitely predates all these."
Corinne, Corinna is a pop 60s song that's been recorded by about 50 artistes including, Dean Martin, Bill Haley & Comets, Chet Atkins, Bob Dylan, Jerry Lee Lewis, John Lennon and The Rolling Stones.
Corrinne May (image), singer/songwriter co-wrote the song If You Didn't Love Me with the legendary songwriters Carole King and Carole Bayer Sager as part of her winning entry in a songwriting competition. "Carole King & Carole Bayer Sager wrote the lyric for the song and entertained submissions for the best musical accompaniment and melody (Wiki)." Corrinne's version was the winner. It is featured on Corrinne's debut album.
Her cover version of the Burt Bacharach 60s classic Close to You was featured prominently in the movie So Close released by Columbia-Tristar films. The action-packed film starred Zhao Wei, Shu Qi and Karen Mok.
This year's ND song is composed and sung by Corinne May.
