My fiance and I were bored earlier so we decided to go for a run in the car. We ended up at a retail park and after a mug of hot chocolate with lashings of cream, I was all set to browse the shops. First stop? Boots! I know that their 3 for 2 offer on skincare, haircare and make up is coming to an end soon, so I wanted to splurge while I could.
Halfway through swatching some lipsticks, I realised I left my bank card in my other handbag, had just £9 in my purse, and nowhere near enough points on my Advantage Card to pay for what I wanted. Boo hiss. My lovely fiance said he'd buy me some things though, on the condition that it wasn't make up! I put all the make up stuff back and my basket was practically empty, minus some essentials like cotton pads and some Soap & Glory goodies, so he bought me those.
The Boots that I went to was really small and didn't have the whole range of Soap & Glory products, which is unfortunate because I could only find two skincare things I wanted... so I made up the offer with my beloved Botanics eye make up remover.
I got The Fab Pore 15 Minute Facial Peel and The Greatest Scrub Of All Self-Activating Facial Exfoliator (say that five times quickly when you're drunk!). I wanted the cleansing milk called Clean Mary or whatever it is, but as I said, this particular branch didn't have much selection.
Once I got home I tested the two products on my hand, and so far so good! The Fab Pore is really thick and creamy, and has little green beads in it to help exfoliate. It's not harsh at all though. The scrub is really nice. It's not too thick and has a sort of pearly look to it, so already I feel as if it's going to make my skin glow. The exfoliating particles are mainly really fine, with some bigger orange ones here and there. It doesn't seem harsh enough though, that's my only criticism. Maybe that'll all change when I use them on my face, instead of my not-so-sensitive hand!
The best thing of all though, is that neither of them have that bloody overpowering scent that Flake Away and The Righteous Butter have - the one that gives me headaches and makes me feel sick. Instead, these have a really fresh scent but I can't quite put my finger on what it is. The only thing that pops into my head whenever I sniff my hand now is cucumber, so maybe that is it? Whatever it is, it's much more pleasant!
I can't wait to use these properly! I'd have had a much bigger shopping spree if only silly me hadn't left my bank card at home. How annoying! Oh well, at least I got some goodies :) Have you tried these? What do you think? xx
