Safety 1st onBoard Air Infant Car Seat Review

Cherry Blossoms {The Blog} Pregnancy Party is brought to you by Annee Matthew!
Thank you!

1 in 4 car crashes involving children are side impact collisions.
They are by far the deadliest type of collision for children, accounting for 1 in 3 child fatalities; nearly all of which are caused by head trauma.
Thankfully Safety 1st has released their new car seats with Air Protect-Side Impact Technology.

Safety 1st engineers designed Air Protect™ using next generation testing methods that simulate the most violent types of side impact crashes, those with vehicle intrusion. Using this advanced methodology, Air Protect™ was engineered to defend your child in two vital ways. During a crash, the system immediately shields your child's head from the impact. In a second layer of defense, Air Protect™ allows air to escape from the headrest: channeling crash energy away from your child, creating more ride down time. It is this double layer of protection that makes Air Protect™ technology unique.

You may remember my first review with Safety 1st where I reviewed the Complete Air Toddler Car Seat. I absolutely loved that car seat so I was over the moon when Safety 1st sent me a 1st onBoard Air Infant Car Seat to review.

So how does the Air Infant Car Seat work?
Through the precise release of air, Air Protect shields children from side impact intrusion and immediately reduces crash forces where the child is most vulnerable - the head. A superior testing method combined with a strict focus on head containment make Air Protect not only a state-of-the-art technology, but a revolution in child safety.

Here are some facts about the Safety 1st on Board Air Infant Car Seat:
  • The Air Infant car seat has Air Protect side impact technology cushions
  •  The Air Infant car seat can be used for infants 4-35 pounds, up to 32″ tall
  • The Infant car seat is available in four color choices
  • Revolutionary Side Impact Technology-Feaures  Air protect side impact protection drastically reduces side impact crash forces to the head
  • 17% more leg room than most infant car seats
  •  Customizable insert and low harness slots make the seat ideal for preemies and adjustable for growing babies
  • Carry Curve™ Handle features ergonomic design
My Review
When I opened the box and pulled out this car seat I was seriously in shock. The Safety 1st onBoard Air Infant car seat is unlike any other car seat I have seen or handled before. The car seat is sturdy, super safe, and very well made. Since my infant won't be here until January I had my friend Robin who has an infant help me review the car seat properly. She was just as impressed as I was with the car seat...she kept on saying "I am going and buying this car seat as soon as I leave your house!" Robins infant little girl is about 15 lbs right now and she fit perfectly into the car seat. We loved the adjustable recline base {with two positions} and the harness. The cushions for the Air-Protect are super soft and make my friend and I feel SO much better knowing that our little ones are {will be} the safest they can be!

You can purchase Safety 1st Air Car Seats at Babies R' US and Toys R' US.

The company did send me a product or service for review. This in no way has affected my opinion of the product or service. This review is my opinion and has been written in my own words.

Hair obsession

My latest hair infatuation? Plaits. Yep, the hairstyle is normally sported by Barbie-loving schoolgirls under 12... but  I have been obsessed with the sexy, grown up version - messy side plaits. The messier, more tousled and volumised the hair, the sexier I think it looks. And if it's good enough for these gorgeous girls, it's good enough for me!

And my effort - pretty rubbish in comparison but hey ho:

Not as tousled and not as sexy but I liked it anyway. I love fishtail braids. They're really easy and just look a little bit more 'polished' so can be glammed up a little bit should you want to. I can't remember what make up I'm wearing here. I think it might be MAC Softwash Grey pigment and MAC Smoke & Diamonds eyeshadow, with Illamasqua Obey lipstick. No idea about the rest, sorry!

Have you been trying out the recent braid trend?

xoxo
