Blossoms of the Witch Hazel - the Golden Queen

Although I have already seen blooming Hamamelis in January in my hometown Freiburg, I now discovered the most beautiful little bush of Hamamelis here in Munich now. The blossoms were huge and the backlit situation added a lot to its delicate beauty...
And it's also a very valuable healing plant - creme with hamamelis extract is used for all kinds of skin irritations and little wounds.

Can you smell it? Can you hear it? All that humming, buzzing. Can you feel the tickling at your nose when the pollen gets on your skin?

Apple Tree Dreams....

I am afraid I cannot stop lamenting about our weather at the moment - snow snow snow coming down and not ending. But at usual it is not that dry white stuff with much sun shining from time to time but that ugly wet sh.. that creeps into your bones, your feet become wet and everything is hurting from that damn damp cold.

So I would like to stay under my blankets and dream the apple tree dream...

The Secrets of a Queen...

I don't know why I am always so fascinated by Magnolias. Maybe because they reveal their beauty only for a very short time in the year - if at all. Because each rainfall is assured death to their blossoms not to speak of frost and ice at a time of the year when this can happen easily in our area.
