My Review
I was sent a Restop Commode Sanitation System and Privacy Tent to review.
Restop Commode Sanitation System
The Restop Commode Sanitation System includes the following:
- Commode
- Two five pack Restop 2 Wilderness Waste Containment Kits-Totaling 10 Restop 2 Kits
- Two Wilderness mesh storage pouches {used to dispose of human waste {liquid and solid}}.
- Toilet Paper and Pre-moistened antiseptic towelettes are included with each kit
How to use the Restop Commode:
- Remove the screw lid from the top of the commode
- Unzip a Restop 2 bag and unfold the inside bag-placing the bag into the commode and folding the top edge of the bag around the rim of the commode. {don't throw away the outer bag!}
- Place the toilet seat into place
- Relieve yourself {ahhhh....that's better now...isn't it!?!}
- Now that you are finished you must clean up after yourself {it's the proper way of doing things!}
- Take the toilet seat off of the commode and fold the soiled bag into the outer bag {remember-the bag I told you NOT to throw away?} and now zip it closed. {Phew! That's much better! It was getting a little smelly out here!}
- Place the sealed soiled bag into the commode along with any unused Restop 2 bags and toilet seat.
- Replace Gamma Lid
| FYI: All Restop 2 bags are EPA approved for landfill disposal {50 States}...so what I am trying to say is you can basically just throw them out with the rest of your rubbish! Restops Gamma Lid meets National Park requirements for contamination prevention while rafting down the river. |
So you are probably wondering what's so special about Restop's Commode? Well, Smarty pants I'll tell you.... Restop's "bag in a bag" design {which includes a zipped up closure} contains both the waste and odor. After you use the commode a special blend of enzymes and polymers in the foil bag begin to break down your waste-immediately-and convert the waste into a deodorized gel. What about the gray liner? Well, the gray liner is there for extra sanitation-you're welcome!
Restop Privacy Tent
A sturdy, collapsible tent that keeps you covered so you can do your duty {or so to speak}. Even in the sunlight the opaque fabric keeps you hidden from view {no embarrassing silhouettes!}. The tent comes fully equipped with a tie down rope and stakes- {though those aren't really needed unless its pretty blustery out}. The connect joints are easy to use and it literally takes a few seconds to set up the tent and take it down...nifty, right? I love that the zipper to the tent is located on the inside {thank goodness for that...no awkward mishaps there!} The tent is easily carried in the included shoulder carrying case {I am a lightweight so believe me when I say it is easy to handle!}
Some neat info: Restop's Privacy Tent was tested by Everest Environmental Expedition. The tent was used by by the Expedition two years in a row, at altitudes of over 21,000 feet.
I was extremely impressed with both the Restop Commode Sanitation System and the Restop Privacy tent. Both products are made extremely well, easy to use, and carry. It gives me peace of mind to know that when or if a disaster strikes my family and I will be well prepared!
The company did send me a product or service for review. This in no way has affected my opinion of the product or service. This review is my opinion and has been written in my own words
