I am a nail biter. A nail biter with teeny tiny nail beds, so when I want nice nails I only have one option - fake it! I very rarely get them done professionally because I am so fickle and want them off within a day or two, so I might as well just go and throw £20 down the drain. I do like DIY falsies though, and this time I plumped for some Elegant Touch, but the X-Short style. Long nails just look and feel really unnatural on me, so I always buy short ones or file them down to a length I can manage.
To be totally honest, I am not a huge fan of the french manicured look. I much prefer painting the nails in lovely colours, and have recently been lusting after the delicious dark or muddy colours that are trending. However, when I applied these to go out for my Mam's birthday meal on Sunday, I didn't have time to paint them so left them as they were. I'm still not a fan, but I haven't been as bothered by them as I thought I would be. I do love how long and elegant my fingers look though. I have found myself being more delicate too, which has annoyed Mr Lollipop as I've been a proper bimbo - like being unable to open my own can of pop! We've laughed about it though, thankfully.
This is day 5 and I have to admit, I am super impressed with their lasting power. A few times this week I have had the urge to take them off, but whenever I have tried they've been stuck too hard to pull off with ease. In hindsight, that's a good thing! I just used the glue from the pack and they've been super strong and sturdy. I can notice a few bubbles under the nails today, so I don't think I've got much wear left before I get a casualty, but I am more than happy with how long they have lasted!
As an infrequent treat, these are lovely, but for everyday? Nah, far too high maintenence for clumsy little me!
xoxo
