Those of you who are frequent visitors to my blog know that I LOVE to bake. That being said I am not a big fan of boxed cake mixes...that was until I tried two new Duncan Hines Decadent Cake mixes...oh my goodness!Duncan Hines sent me their Triple Chocolate Cake {with real chocolate chunks and rich fudge} and the Apple Caramel Cake {with real apples and rich caramel} to review. I wasn't really expecting much out of boxed cake mixes but boy was I in for a nice surprise! Best of all-both cakes contain 0 grams of Trans Fats and NO hydrogenated oils!
Triple Chocolate Cake Review The only way to describe what this cake tastes like is to say its the perfect mix between a brownie and cake. To make the cake you basically make it as you would any other boxed cake mix except that you have an extra step. The extra step is mixing the fudge dollops in a bowl and then adding little dollops of the fudge throughout the finished batter before it is baked. The end result? Moist, fudge-filled, chocolaty cake that leaves you begging for one more piece!
Apple Caramel Cake Review This cake is the perfect Fall treat...just the smell that permeated through the air while the cake was cooking made me think about falling crisp leaves, Pumpkins, and cool brisk air! Ahhhhh! This cake is basically made the same way as the Triple Chocolate Cake....you just add the caramel mixture throughout the cake right before you put it into the oven. So what does it taste like? A Spiced Caramel Apple...delicious, gooey, and salty sweet! Perfection!
So if you are one of those {like me} who normally swears off sweets unless they are completely home baked {yes, okay I am a snob!} change things up a bit with Duncan Hines Decadent Cakes! They are perfect for a fast treat or special delivery to someone special!This in no way has affected my opinion of the product or service.
