LOST but now FOUND

So the question on everyones mind this morning is....
"What did you think of LOST?"
I cried...because of how wonderful it was...
BUT I am still left with many questions....
  • Was the Island "real"?
  • Who were the Others?
  • Who were Jacob/Smoke Monster?
  • What was that HUGE statue?
  • Were they deceased all along?

I found this great discussion in the LOST Forums and thought it was an interesting take on things...Leave a comment below and leave me your theory...

{The Following Excerpt is from the Lost Forum that can be found here}

Everyone on Oceanic 815 died in the crash.  Everyone you saw on the island who was not on Oceanic 815 was also dead.  It doesn't matter when they died, this is what is tripping most of you up. Whether they died before or after the crash, they were dead. All the people in the tail section, the others, the people at the temple, all of them.
The Oceanic Six never returned to the world "across the sea". The entire time they were trying to get off the island they were in denial as to the fact that they were dead. When the five (Aaron was a baby) went back to what they created to be their world, it was never right and eventually they all were drawn back to the island to accept their fates and move on. Gradually all of the characters accepted their fates, most of them last night, and when Jack finally did, they were ready to move on together.
The reason they were all brought to this reality when they died is because of how they lived.  Every single person on the island, whether on Oceanic 815 or not, was brought to the island to resolve the lonely empty existances they led while alive.  They were brought to the island to form relationships, to fall in love (or for the Kwons to rekindle their love), and as seen in the last seen it worked.  These people got on the plane lonely "lost" souls, they died, and over 6 seasons they made friends they never had while alive.
Once the lonliness was resolved, it was just a matter of when they would accept their death and move on. Letting go was a big theme. We weren't sure what it meant, but now we know. Locke let go early on and was the first to cross over. Jack was the last. Richard Alpert took over 200 years to move on. He died on the slave ship with the other slaves, but took a long time to cross over. He didn't age because he was dead. Ben spent a long time on the island too.  He still wasn't ready to cross over last night, but he was close.  Ben died as a child and chose to age in this reality as a coping mechanism because he couldn't accept that he was dead. Even though Claire, Kate and Sawyer were on the plane at the end, they accepted their fates in the flash sideways timeline, they were awakened to the memories of the island, accepted their fates, and moved on.  For all we know, Lapidus, Miles and Alpert are still there.  They think their going home because they have not accepted that they are dead. They will continue living in this alternate reality until they do. Or, they aren't real and were created by the losties in this reality as part of the story.
Michael and the other whisperers are souls whose conduct on the island caused them to not be able to move on. They are now ghosts, unable to pass on forever trapped on the island.

SO REALLY....WHAT DO YOU THINK?
