Tag : Awesome girl award

This 'I Think You're An Awesome Girl' award was given to me by the lovely Tacky Blue Eyeshadow. Thank you so much! If you haven't checked out her blog, please do so. She's so down to earth and friendly.
So, this is an award and a tag. You have to give ten facts about yourself, then tag or award ten blogs you enjoy reading. Simple? Let's go!

1. I used to have two bunny rabbits when I was a little girl, called Kylie and Jason. Sad but true.
2. I shout in my sleep. Not often, but when I do it's seriously worrying things, like "Fire!" or "Smoke, I can smell smoke!". Needless to say my fiance isn't impressed once he's darted out of bed, to find me snoring away happily.
3. I've never been on an aeroplane. Nor abroad. My Mam's fear of flying has rubbed off onto me, but I'm biting the bullet and going away in June for G's 30th. He's lucky I love him!
4. I'm not sure I ever want children. I can't see it happening in the next 5 years at least. The thought terrifies me, much to the annoyance of G - he's been broody since our nephew was born 6 years ago! His broodiness has been exaggerated since his sister gave birth 10 days ago! Urgh. That said, I've reserved some names. Just incase.
5. I regret not going to university.
6. I have at least 10 pairs of shoes in my wardrobe that I've never worn. I can't help it. I buy things because they look pretty, regardless of how impractical they are, or if I am going to go somewhere to wear them.
7. I love cooking. I enjoy spending afternoons whipping up muffins and cupcakes, or a delicious casserole. My speciality is white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake. My brother would kill for the last slice!
8. I think Angelina Jolie is hugely overated and can't bear to watch any of her movies. I think she is a bad actress, and I don't get why she is continually voted 'Sexiest Woman in The Galaxy' or whatever. And I think her lips are too big for her face! I sound like I'm jealous or something, but honestly, I just don't get it.
9. I am soooo not a morning person! I don't speak to anybody until at least 10am, and even then it's a grunt or two. I won't eat or drink anything. I refuse to be part of the world if it's the morning. I just shuffle about and mope around until I come round! G has to pull the blanket off me and practically push me out of bed!
10. I can't drive and am not really bothered about learning. I'm really good at Mario Kart Wii though!

So there you go, 10 (boring) facts about me. Now onto the blogs! I have many that I love, so I've tried to tag people who I think have slipped under the radar, or people that haven't been tagged yet xx

Rolling Stones - Brian Jones - Guitar Weaving

A Rolling Stones legend he died in July, 1969. Lewis Brian Hopkin Jones (back/centre), born in 1942 was English and one of the founding members of The Rolling Stones. Jones was known for his talent in using different musical instruments and for his flamboyant attire.
As a guitarist, Jones had used a Harmony Stratotone, a Gretsch Double Anniversary in two-tone green, a teardrop-shaped prototype Vox Mark III, Gibson (various Firebirds, ES-330), a Les Paul, as well as two Rickenbacker 12-String models.
Keith Richards maintains that what he and Jones called "guitar weaving", emerged from this period. "We listened to the teamwork, trying to work out... how you could play together with two guitars and make it sound like four or five". Their guitars became a signature sound for the Rolling Stones, both playing rhythm and lead without clear boundaries, known as the Chicago style.

Colours of an Insect's Cloth

It looks like cloth, cloth made from tree bark fibers as it is still common in various remote areas of our world. But this has been made by an insect, tree wasps and it is the structure of their nest. Incredible colours and incredible pattern - simply beautiful. Photographed backlit...
