A Bit about The Rare Orchid
The Rare Orchid (TRO) was started in 2007 by owner and product designer Meredith Lee, a social worker who had graduated from UCLA just a few years before and was finding it hard to make ends meet in the "real world". What began as a weekend hobby selling crafts under a tent to pay the rent has quickly grown into a strong, unique full-time business.
Based in Honolulu, Hawaii, TRO products are inspired any where from cultural richness, nature, to contemporary modern art. Meredith's passion for color and attention to detail are reflected in all her products, with quality and function continuing to be the primary goal.
My Review
I was sent a package of 4 Pink Cherry Blossom Stems Clip Magnets from The Rare Orchid to review. Each clip comes with a strong neodymium magnet embedded into the painted clothespins. The clips are then embellished with high-quality Japanese washi (silk-screened mulberry paper ). A glossy "bubble" epoxy finish enhances and protects the paper while also magnifying the beauty of each design. The Cherry Blossom Clip Magnets are just gorgeous...so detailed, well made, and unique. I love the beautiful Washi paper with bubble overlay that gives the magnets a beautiful sheen. I really love the fact that the magnets are actually clothespins...that is another unique element and keeps my pictures and papers organized nicely on my refrigerator. The Rare Orchid doesn't just make Washi Clip Magnets....they also make Washi Compact Mirrors, Washi Pendants, and much more. Any of The Rare Orchids items would make a perfect gift for any teacher, friend, or family member...whether for Holiday gift giving or another special occasion The Rare Orchids friendly customer service and unique and beautiful items are just that...Rare!
