King Arthur Flour Review

I constantly receive magazines in my mailbox...and most of them I throw out right away...but the one I always look forward to receiving is the King Arthur Flour Holiday Magazine...talk about temptation! I always go through the catalog and circle the items I want for Christmas...and my birthday....and Valentines Day....and any other gift giving holiday I can think of! King Arthur Flour carries unique ingredients, amazing baking mixes, and many other items that are a "MUST HAVE" in any bakers kitchen.

A Bit about King Arthur Flour

Making naturally pure and consistently performing flour for over 200 years is no easy task, but the folks at King Arthur Flour take such pride in their flour that they wouldn't have it any other way. They are motivated by knowing that every day, people across the country count on their flour to make their baking the best it can be. And as an employee-owned company, that's a responsibility every single employee takes very seriously.
My Review
The Cookie and Cupcake Decorating Tool Set is made up of five plastic squeeze bottles {instead of messy pastry bags}...two large and three small, a mini spatula, and 5 tips; round, ribbon, leaf, star, and basketweave which all come in a reusable storage box. This little set is the greatest especially when you have young children! My four year old daughter and I made a small batch of cookies and decorated them for some of our friends using the Decorating Tool Set. My four year old LOVED using this set to make different shapes and designs all over her cookies. I also used the set and really got wonderful results from it...the bottles and tips gave me full control over where and how the icing went on the cookies. Now I am no cookie decorator but I do have to say that my cookies turned out quite cute thanks to the tool set! I also really love the fact that this set is SO easy to clean...just rinse them off and then throw them in the top rack of your dishwasher! So fun and So easy!
The K.A.F. Kids Chocolate Snack Cake Mix is made by King Arthur Flour especially for young bakers. The mix is made of all-natural and organic ingredients, that feature mild flavors and softer texture kids love. The mix includes cake mix, icing, and sprinkles...and the only extras that you need to have on had for the mix is butter, water, oil, vanilla and eggs {oh, and an oven of course!}. My daughter and I whipped up the mix the other afternoon and we were both SO pleased at the results. The directions were super easy to follow and my daughter LOVED being able to do most of the baking herself. The mix makes 9 Cupcakes that taste moist, rich, and super chocolaty! The 9 cupcakes didn't last long around here...and we are pretty picky with our baked goods...so thats saying something!
My husband has been looking forward to trying the English Rum Butter from King Arthur Flour since he first saw it in the Holiday catalog, so when we got the chance to review it he was SUPER excited. Now we don't drink alcohol in our home but my husband loves the taste of Rum flavoring...so I was excited to see what he thought of the English Rum Butter. The English Rum Butter comes packaged nicely in a 7.5 oz. jar...and its called "English" Rum Butter because it is made in Great Britain...so yes, folks this is the REAL thing. The Rum Butter features fresh butter and Rum and each jar is filled by hand. My husband tried out the English Rum Butter on some scones that I made and I watched as his eyes rolled back in his head...oh, don't worry...he only does that when he eats something he LOVES. He couldn't stop raving about how delicious, creamy, buttery and unique the English Rum Butter is. I am SO glad he likes it because I now know what I will be getting him for a Christmas present again next year!
The Espresso Powder was the one item I have been dying to try for a long time from King Arthur Flour. I have heard SO many bakers swear by this stuff and here is why...Espresso powder is chocolate's best friend because espresso powder enhances chocolate's flavor without adding any coffee flavor of its own.. All you need to do is use 1/2 to 2 teaspoons in chocolate baked goods, frostings, and sauces. Using Espresso Powder will distinguish your Chocolate cake as the BEST of the BEST! I added a bit of the Espresso Powder to the Chocolate cookies my daughter and I made and WOWZA this Espresso Powder is amazing! The Espresso Powder gave the cookies an extra boost...our friends are now asking for my cookie recipe...but my secret ingredient was definitely the Espresso Powder! So if you are looking for that secret ingredient to make your baked goods really stand out I highly recommend purchasing the Espresso Powder from King Arthur Flour.
