It's September! Can you believe it?! Where has the time gone? Hopefully I'll be able to blog more now that my internet connection has been sorted. We've had to change providers because it was so bad but I think it's done now *crosses fingers*.
Now, before I start this review, I am under no illusions that this is a miracle product that will deem my mascaras redundant. I know that it will not lengthen, it will not thicken, and it will not give me lashes I have always dreamed of. So why did I buy it?
Now, before I start this review, I am under no illusions that this is a miracle product that will deem my mascaras redundant. I know that it will not lengthen, it will not thicken, and it will not give me lashes I have always dreamed of. So why did I buy it?
As you can see from the picture below, my lashes are nigh on invisible. As a fair skinned blonde girl, it's a nightmare, and I feel really uncomfortable leaving the house without at least mascara. I'd forego everything else, as long as you give me mascara. It's also difficult to make sure every lash is coated in the morning, and I regularly find myself about to dash through the door when I realise I've missed some. I just wanted to make my life that little bit easier, and my morning routine that little bit quicker, by having dark lashes. Excuse the brows...
So, what do Dylash say?
If the constant clumping and smudging of mascara is a daily nightmare, perhaps it's time for a change? Dylash Eyelash and Brow Dye is the perfect answer for those who find mascara a trial but cannot go without. Darkening your lashes will immediately give your eyes a whole different dimension. Shiny, healthy looking lashes for up to 6 weeks.
Also use on brows for a more defined brow line - especially for toning in with your hair colour.
Available in Black, Brown and Blue Black
Tip: using clear mascara over Dylash will give you even lusher, open lashes without the possibility of smudges.

What do I say?
I'll talk you through my application first. I read and re-read the instructions, and followed it to the letter. I made sure the mixture wasn't too warm or too cold. I mixed the said amount thoroughly and I made sure my lashes were spotless and free of any oils. I applied a barrier cream/gel (in my case, my MAC Naked Honey Skin Salve, but of course you could use Vaseline) all around my eye, making sure there was none on my lashes. I dampened the little protective pads the provided, and popped them underneath my eyes. On the first eye, I used the little wand applicator to run the dye through my lashes. It said to leave for 5-10 minutes.
I sat with my eye closed for about 7 minutes, which was more uncomfortable than I expected it to be. I tried to lay back with both eyes shut and chill out, but when I'm told I can't do something, I want to do it all the more Then, when the time was up, I took my pre-prepared damp cotton pad, and wiped away the dye, ensuring I wiped downwards. Only when I was certain no more dye was coming off did I dare open my eye... and what did I see? Not a lot. Not that it blinded me - no, no - but more so that it didn't make the blind bit of difference. Was it the product or was it the application?
I worried that the wand applicator didn't coat my lashes enough, so I prepped my other eye in the same manner, with the salve and damp pad, and used my finger to apply the dye. I never wear protective gloves when dying my hair, so my skin is used to the harsh chemicals - I'm not suggesting you do this method, not at all, I'm just saying that I do. "Do as I say, not as I do." I wiped it off after the full 10 minutes this time, and did it make a difference? Did it heck! Can you see a difference between my eyelashes in the photo above and the photo below? Nah, me neither.
I am really disappointed by this product. Like I said, I wasn't expecting miracles, but the hair on my head is substantially darker than my eyelashes, and if I dyed that black you'd notice it, so I'd certainly expect to notice it more on my lashes. What a load of [insert favourite expletive here].
Price?
The Eylure Dylash costs around £6.99, and is available from the usual places - Boots, Superdrug, some supermarkets etc.
Would I repurchase?
Nope, and if you want to save yourself £7, you shouldn't either. [Expletives].
xoxo
