I am officially in love. Okay, there are several occasions on which I have declared that - watching James Corden, wearing YSL Rouge Volupte's, and tucking into a Hummingbird Bakery cupcake to name just a few - but today's love comes in the form of a little stone lodge upon a lake.
Yesterday afternoon, the gorgeous Mr Lollipop and I visited the wedding venue of my our dreams, and it was just... breathtaking - that's the only word to describe it. It's a stone built lodge sitting in private grounds overlooking a lake in South Wales, and it is the perfect romantic and secluded setting we want for our wedding.
We got a little lost finding it, but once we had turned off into the entrance track, I knew it was the place for us. As we approached it, all we could see were trees, which just built my excitement because it felt all secretive. And there, peeking over the car park wall, was the roof of the little lodge, so it's definitely private! The sun shone during our whole visit, so the cosy Winter wedding we had in our minds went straight out of the window, and we are now looking at a Summer wedding, because it's a place that really needs lovely weather to be appreciated. It was just so serene and calming.
It was getting set up for a wedding today, which totally helped us visualize how things would look. And the wedding was looking gorgeous, which certainly helped! It had a vintage kind of theme and it looked fabulous. Lucky couple with great taste!
It's fairly modern but still traditional, and I loved that every room was flooded with light and overlooked the lake. The building feels homely and warm and is surrounded by a gorgeous forest and the lake is floodlit at night. We even saw a family of ducks and some little fishies. Upstairs is a ceremony room, then it's downstairs for the meal, then back upstairs for the evening party, so lots of different areas can be created. The wedding co-ordinator was so lovely and helpful too. Mr Lollipop absolutely loves the venue aswell and we can't wait to get married there. Wherever we went I could imagine us there, with our own little personal touches dotted around the place. It was completely 'us'.

I can't believe after almost 8 years of being engaged, the ball is finally in motion. Yay!
