The world's most expensive domain names, Sex.com still most expensive domain name in the world, Sex.com is the world’s most expensive domain name and recently sold for $13 million at an auction. Sedo.com, a domain name market place, confirmed on Friday, that it was the record holder as the most expensive domain name ever sold. Escom LLC was forced to sell it to winning bidder Clover Holdings Ltd because of bankruptcy issues. The previous owner, Escom LLC, sold the domain name Sex.com for $13 million, although they bought it in 2006 for $14 million.
