It's been a quiet week on the old blogging front. I've been itching to sit down and blog but everytime I open up my laptop, I start looking at weddings. Before I know it, it's 11pm and I'm struggling to keep my eyes open! hehe. Can't resist a pretty wedding! Anyhoo, what's been happening?
♥ I have been off work since Wednesday, and I will be off until this coming Wednesday. It's Mr Lollipop's birthday tomorrow and we always book a few days off just to chill out and enjoy each other's company. It's generally an excuse to treat ourselves, but we've no idea what we're doing yet.
♥ On Thursday we went to see Avenue Q in the Wales Millennium Centre. Mr L phoned me in work on Tuesday asking me if I wanted to go, and when I asked him what it was about I was less than enthused. My exact words were, "I'm 27, what the hell do I want to see a musical version of Sesame Street for?!". But... I went anyway and I stand corrected - it was so much fun! Absolutely hilarious and you don't even realise you're kinda watching a puppet show by the end of it. It was slightly disturbing to see puppets 'having sex', but the whole theatre was roaring with laughter throughout. If you get the chance to see it, I really urge you to, even if you are not a huge musical fan.
♥ My healthy eating is still going well, but I had a few wobbles on Thursday. If the day starts off badly, it kind of sets the tone for the rest of the day. We made DIY McMuffins for breakfast and had a number of treats through the day, including a pizza before the performance. I'm back on track now, but I can't wait to go shopping and restock my cupboards with things that are good for me.
♥ And finally - Happy Father's Day to my lovely yet slightly crazy Daddy. He is into building model ships and boats at the moment, so we bought him another one to add to his collection, then bought all the paints he needed and wrapped them up from the dog. At 7:30 this morning I realised that I'd forgotten a card and wrapping paper! I've never moved so fast in my life, and managed to make a card myself (thanks to inserting his face into a picture of Captain Jack Sparrow on faceinhole.com). Then I wrote inside in Pirate Lingo - no idea what it meant but there were lots of 'Shiver me Timbers', 'Thar she blows', and 'Pieces of eight' involved! He's a Captain of all his model ships y'see, so I went with it. He loved it so's all good. Oh, and his gifts were wrapped in tin foil. DIY-ed to the max but what else am I supposed to do at 7:30 on a Sunday morning?!
♥ Listening to : The Black Eyed Peas Don't Stop The Party, Birdy Shelter and Nicole Scherzinger Right There. And tons of Take That! I'm still gutted I didn't get to go see them in Cardiff. Sob.
How has your weekend been? Really looking forward to not having to get up early for a few more days!
xoxo
