Sucre Review

My husband and I are what some people would call "Chocolate Conosurs." We are extremely picky when it comes to chocolate and sweets...I mean honestly why waste the calories on sweets that are just not worth eating? That being said I have found some of the best sweets I have EVER had the pleasure of eating at Sucre!


A Bit about Sucre
  Sucre is a premium sweets boutique founded by Joel Dondis in April of 2007. Sucre has two locations in New Orleans; Veterans Boulevard and Magazine Street. Sucre's desserts have been raved about in Good Housekeeping, Star Magazine, and the New York Post to name a few. 


My Review

   I was sent "For the Love of Chocolate Collection + French Macaroons" from Sucre to review. Upon opening the box from Sucre I found two beautiful gift boxes, one heart shaped and shimmery and one long and square. They were both so beautiful I didn't want to open them! I decided to open the heart shaped box first and found 15 pieces of beautiful shimmery {yes, shimmery!} chocolate hearts. I couldn't wait to try them! I tasted the hearts and I was immediately hooked...the shell of the chocolate gives a slight crunch to be greeted by melt in your mouth chocolate ganache with a hint of raspberries! The next sweet item up to sample was the French Macaroons..,I was SO excited to try these! Ever since I saw the movie Marie Antoinette I have wondered what a French Macaroon would taste like...well let me say that these do NOT disappoint! Sadly, most of the Macaroons arrived broken but that isn't Sucres fault at all.... the Macaroons are just very, VERY delicate. The Macaroons were glittery shades of Pink and White filled with a white chocolate and raspberry mousseline. When I placed the Macaroon in my mouth I was surprised at how light and airy it was...the shell dissolves leaving a sweet and creamy raspberry and white chocolate filling {which was to DIE for!}. Honestly, Sucre has gained  a life long customer! The quality of both sweets was amazing and worth every single calorie! Now don't fret if you don't live in New Orleans...Sucre has made their amazing confections available online to order. So for Holiday goodies {or any day for that matter} head on over to Sucre. Your sweet tooth will definitely be 
satisfied!
