Sunday 010

Wow, what a week! We all love having a little break away from home, but I'm sure you'll agree that there's no nicer feeling than sinking back into your own bed when you come back. Aaah bliss!

I went to Gretna Green on Tuesday for Mr Lollipop's sister's wedding. We had glorious sunshine on the day we travelled up, though being stuck in traffic on the M6 for over 2 hours was... well, actually, I didn't notice it. The anti-travel-sickness tablets I took made me drowsy, so I fell asleep in the back of the mini bus. It was a bit soul-destroying to wake up after a 2 hour snooze and realise we hadn't actually moved though.

On the wedding day itself, Wednesday, it was dark and gloomy and a little bit rainy. That didn't make the slightest bit of difference though as it was such a beautiful place! She got married in the Old Blacksmith's Shop and it couldn't have been a more perfect setting for her. The grounds were so lovely and her wedding theme was daffodils, of which there were many in bloom. The ceremony was very intimate, very personal, and because there were only 18 of us there it was very relaxed and informal, exactly the way she wanted it. The bride looked stunning! She wore a 50's style tea-length dress with a purple sash, purple shoes, and a big bow headpiece with a little birdcage veil. Her bridesmaid wore purple and my little 20 month old neice wore the same dress as the bride but in purple with a white sash. The men looked so handsome in the purple kilts too, and the yellow daffodils set it all off nicely. We had an equally fabulous time at the evening reception on Friday night too - lots of dancing, touching (and drunken!) speeches, and cupcakes - mmm cupcakes! Such a fab week of celebrations and huge congratulations to the very happy couple!

The diet starts again tomorrow. A week of indulgence has certainly paid it's price!

All I've seen and heard this week are weddings. Which... has made me super depressed. I wish I could afford to get married tomorrow, but I can't. Of course, I can 'downsize' my ideas, but I kind of feel like I have to 'just settle' on day to day basis, and for just one day I want everything to be just perfect. I know I'm being a bridezilla and a tad dramatic, but... *stomps feet* it's just not fair. Life sucks sometimes.

Listening to : LMFAO Party Rock Anthem, Dionne Bromfield Yeah Right and lots of trashy wedding DJ songs, like Time Warp!

Few to follow : Faye, Birthday Girl Holly and Emma.

Hope you all had as lovely a week as me :)

xoxo
