Freeeeeeeedom!

I thought I'd do a little update post for you, since blogposts have been quite sparse recently. As you are reading this, I am in one of two places, hopefully celebrating a Welsh rugby win:
1) My friend (and birthday girl) Shell's house, getting ready to go out
2) Already shaking my tush like Beyonce on a dancefloor in Swansea

What I know for certain is that I am quite inebriated, as I have a lot to celebrate tonight. March is the month of birthdays - I have friends' birthdays on 3rd, 7th, 12th (today), 19th and 21st, and mine is on the 17th - yippee! As a result we are out tonight, which is also a sort of 'leaving do' for my manager. On top of that, I have finally completed my NVQ and it is either in the postbox or sitting on my assessors desk. Wherever it is, I don't care, as long as it is no longer in front of me!

Don't get me wrong, I did well in my GCSE's, went to college, and am also pretty damn good at my job, so by no means am I thick - but I really struggled with this bad boy. It was just a lot of repetition, and I literally had to write every little thing down, like "I walked over to the computer. I pressed 'Enter' on the keyboard then logged on using my unique username and password. I then moved the mouse... blah blah blah". I could literally write it in my sleep! I then had to find loads of evidence and paperwork and... AAARGH! I am so relieved to have my life back. I feel freeeeeee! I can nip to Morrisons and not stress about how long I am out of the house for. I can blog to my hearts content, I can go to bed and wake up at a decent hour, I can relax in a bath for hours on end instead of a quick 3 minute shower twice a day, I can eat my food in peace on my lunch hour instead of wolfing it down then running around to photocopy things... I can just be a normal 26 (27 on Thursday) year old again. And it feels bloody great! I have been in an incredibly good mood since I finished it all, and I'm hoping it continues!

Mr Lollipop and I went to Cardiff yesterday. I bought no makeup. None. Zip. Nada. My mission was to find something to wear tonight and I chose something similar to this floaty navy number:

Mine has a chiffon overlay, embroidery and jewels on the cuffs rather than studs, and the neckline has some pleats for a bit of added interest. It looks pretty boring in the picture but I love the poofy sleeves and the little details, plus the navy colour works wonders on my skintone. I love it. I'm teaming it with my trusty pair of jeans and some blingy silver jewellery, and either a pair of silver heels or a pair of silver sequinned pumps. I'm blinging it up big style. It'd be rude not to really! It's from 'big-girl store' Evans but... It is TWO dress sizes SMALLER than the clothes I was buying before Christmas, and I could probably get away with the next size down again because it is so floaty. Whoop! Looks like my hard work is paying off, at last! I also tried on a maxi dress for the first time. I was always worried about wearing them because my bottom half is bigger than my top half, so in order to get something that fits comfortably I was worried I'd look like I was wearing a tent. I was so relieved to find that they actually quite suit me though, so I am on the look out for some cute floral numbers for the Summer - should we ever get one...

Whilst in Cardiff we indulged in some cheeky cupcakes. The shop is called SugarSwirlz and it is in the Dominions Arcade. My sister-in-law is having her wedding cakes from there next month, so I had heard of the shop a while ago, but it was in the news recently as some nutter trashed the place because they'd sold out of her favourite Sweet Tooth Fairy Cake.

It is a yummy little cupcake with lots of different flavoured frosting on top, with a little bit of candy floss and edible glitter. Very pretty, and admittedly, very scrummy. Not quite worth tearing up a shop over mind. As I don't have my beloved Hummingbird Bakery on my doorstep, these will be a fab alternative. I can see those two dress sizes going back on soon...

Sooo... that's my not-as-little-as-I-expected update for you all! Hope you are all okay - looking forward to catching up with you all! :)

xoxo
