The Most Expensive Skull

This was an odd one. Damien Hurst was commissioned by David Beckman to sculpt the piece as consolation for Victoria since the Queen did not grant her the status of “Lady”. This art piece is a life-sized, platinum skull covered with 8,601 diamonds totaling 1,106.18 carats, and weighs 63 pounds. Now that would be just as heavy as Victoria herself, what say? And why in God’s name a skull of all things?
