Lightlife Review

My husband is a professor and always on the run and most days he has to take lunch with him. I am always trying to find healthy and unique meal choices for him to take along. I saw some Lightlife foods in my local organic shop and the owner raved about them...so I decided to put them to the test....

A Bit about Lightlife

...when Michael Cohen, an original partner in the New England Soy Dairy in Greenfield, MA sensed an opportunity to introduce the Indonesian staple, Tempeh, to the American dinner plate.

In 1985, Michael launched Tofu Pups, a healthier, veggie alternative to the good ol' American hot dog. And thus, Lightlife was born and the seeds of a veggie revolution were planted.

Lightlife's Mission Statement is:
"We're in this business because we care about the food that people eat and the earth on which we live, and we go to great lengths to ensure our customers get the very best."

My Review

I asked Lightlife if they wouldn't mind sending me some coupons so that I could try some of their products out...they happily complied to my request! I decided to try the Indian Veggie Masala, Asian Teriyaki, and Shanghai Fried Rice Frozen Meals Entrees. The Entrees can be heated up in the oven or microwave and each of them come with seasoning mix packets that can be mixed in after the entree has been heated. All of the entrees I tried were delicious and each of them was a perfect portion...not too much and not too little!

This entree was bursting with flavor. The Masala was full of chickpeas, cauliflower, and sweet potatoes. It was a bit spicy but I really liked it. It was nice to know I was eating something that was healthy. The meal didn't taste frozen at all,...it was really good!

My husband loved this entree. It is filled with peppers, pinapple bits, Shiitake mushrooms, mixed with edamame {young soy beans}. It is sweet and delicious...a great meal for on the go!

This was my favorite entree! Sugar Snap Peas, Water Chesnuts, and peppers are served over a fluffy bed of brown grain rice...it tastes just like Fried Rice you would get at a restaurant but better! Healthy and delicious!
