Not such a big deal, right?
WRONG!
Unfortunately, I dealt with cradle cap with my daughter {who is now four} until she was a toddler and I thought I might get lucky and not have to deal with cradle cap with my son. One month passed, nothing, two months passed and it began...the dry, flaky, patchy, skin that comes off on mom and baby. Not fun, not fun one bit! I tried everything with my daughter...olive oil, different shampoos, cradle cap treatments, and nothing seemed to work! So when my son developed cradle cap I just had to figure out a way to get rid of it once and for all! While looking online for a remedy I ran across Bean-B-Clean. Bean-B-Clean is a scalp massaging brush that claims to help infants and toddlers that are dealing with the crustiness {gross, I know!} and the flakiness associated with cradle cap. So, I knew I just had to try it on my son to see if the Bean-B-Clean really worked...A Bit about Bean-B-Clean
Bean-B-Clean was the brain child of Joe and Linda Smaldore, grandparents who didn't know what to do when their grandson showed signs of cradle cap. The Smaldores searched for a solution -certain they would find a product on the market that would help. When nothing proved to help the Smaldores came up with a solution themselves...the Bean-B-Clean!
My Review
I know this may sound strange but I was REALLY excited to try the Bean-B-Clean on my three month old. He was diagnosed with moderate cradle cap at our last doctors appointment and I was determined that I would get rid of it. Firstly, it is unattractive. Second, it seems like it would be very uncomfortable and itchy and babies have no way of really communicating their discomfort with this. So when I received the Bean-B-Clean I read the directions and set off to rid my baby of cradle cap. The directions of the Bean-B-Clean says to start with a wet head and to add 1 tsp. of oil {olive, baby, vegetable}. Next, apply gentle pressure with the Bean-B-Clean and start massaging the scalp. Rinse the hair, add regular baby shampoo, massage again, then rinse. I first used the Bean-B-Clean on my son yesterday and then again today when I gave him another bath. Yesterday, I saw improvement but I could still see flakes covering his head. I hoped that the Bean-B-Clean worked by taking one layer off at a time...and I know for a fact that cradle cap can be quite pesky! So this morning I used the Bean-B-Clean once again and I can't believe my eyes. My sons cradle cap is nearly gone. GONE!!!!! I am amazed, shocked, and SO very happy. I no longer have to worry about him being uncomfortable or dealing with the constant flaky skin. Oh, thank you, thank you Bean-B-Clean...you have made me one happy Mom!
