I am hoping that I am not introducing most of you to this album...because if so you have been missing out. My husband and I are very picky when it comes to music...we like a lot of the same music but we also have our musical differences...
he likes bjork...I don't.
I like Spice Girls {should I be admitting that?}...he doesn't
....but we both love Stephen Sondheim so all is right in the world.
So the album I would like to introduce is the self titled One eskimO. My husband and I both love it! The lyrics are creative and the music ranges from upbeat pop to mellow and soothing.

A Bit about One eskimO
- One eskimO has performed for over 300,000 people in the United States and United Kingdom in 2009 opening for Tori Amos, Bob Schneider, and Gomez. One eskimO will be opening for Micahel Franti and Spearhead in May and June 2010.
- One eskimO is a critically-acclaimed English band fronted by singer-songwriter Kristian Leontiou and includes musicians Pete Rinaldi (guitar), Jamie Sefton (bass, horns) and Adam Falkner (drums).
- They currently have the #1 adult alternative song called 'Kandi' which you may have already heard since it's the most played song on all adult rock radio 4 weeks and counting
- One eskimO is on tour May/June/July supporting Michael Franti- in addition to festivals and headlining shows
My Review
I didn't quite know what to expect when popping One eskimO into my cd player, I don't really listen to the radio so I had never heard one of their songs before. I was pleasantly surprised when a soothing voice singing rather quirky lyrics came out of the speakers. While listening to the cd I wrote each of the song titles down on a piece of paper and then wrote the first few things that came to mind when I heard the song. Here is what I wrote:
Hometime
"the big ferris wheel is eventually stalling", magical lyrics transport you to a different place
Astronauts
Haunting, Soothing...love the lyrics "we can be astronauts if you want to get out of here"
Kandi
with lyrics like "my love for you is every step I take" what could be better? Modern Pop
Slip
Slow, Sexy, Mellow...this song is my favorite on the album!
Simple Day
Another mellow song, great lyrics!
Givin Up
Retro Feel, Tambourine heavy, upbeat
Chocolate
Guitar heavy, pop
All Balloons
Rhythm reminds me a bit of island music, upbeat
Chosen One
Beautiful lush melody
UFO
Cool, Calming
Amazing
Smooth, Guitar Heavy
